About the adventure
🌿🍺This is a cannabis and alcohol friendly game. ⚔️🎭This game leans more into combat than RP, about 70/30% 💪🏆We tend to play somewhat competitively. 🌟💗Zero tolerance for (real life) bigotry or hate speech. Let's take a trip to Sigil, the City of Doors, an interplanar nexus where you can make any dream come true - money, knowledge, love, vengeance. But it's never easy to navigate the City's dangers. In this world, you can play just about any kind of character, as long as you come from a world with a somewhat compatible idea of planar travel or can come up with a really good reason why you are here. We've had characters from Faerun, Eberron, Warhammer Fantasy Universe, San Fransisco, just to name a few. As we approach the final chapters of this campaign, the cosmos is changing. A Planar convergence is reshaping reality. Will the Feywild become a place of darkness? Will the Plane of Water dry up? Maybe Hades will be replaced by reruns of Seinfeld. The multiverse is infinite, and so are the possibilities. Skipped sessions will be rare, with as much notice as possible when it does happen. This is intended to be a long-running campaign reaching at least the upper teens, very likely hitting level 20. This is a late-night game and will run for about 3 hours each night. This could be the perfect campaign for you if: - You've played D&D at lower levels, but your games always end before you get to the really good stuff. - You enjoy a high level, competitive game, but with a relaxed table environment. - You have a weird character concept that doesn't work in an average fantasy setting. Meet the Game Master
About me
Just a big dork livin' it up in beautiful Colorado. Go Broncos!🏔️ 🕰️Running TTRPGs has been a passion of mine for over 30 years. For the past 4 years I've had the pleasure of doing it for a living. I am incredibly grateful to have this opportunity to live my dream. My favorite games are long term campaigns where we spend years getting to know each other and making our characters a part of who we are. There is nothing quite like the feeling of finishing a long, epic, campaign. I pride myself on being flexible and listening to my players. It's not my story, it's OUR story and I want you to feel as invested in it as I do. LGBTQ+ folks, people of color, those with special needs and anyone who has ever felt bullied or excluded is welcome at my table. ❓You can learn more about me at my website: https://paynefulgaming.com/ 📹Check out my Level 20 D&D 5E Gameplay Demo video at: https://youtu.be/Ufd9eqELr2E 💻Everything you need to get started in my games can be found here: https://youtu.be/_6SyrnIG9HQ

Creating your character
TLDR version: 2014 rules. Character Sheets on DnDBeyond.com. Tokens, maps, etc on Roll20.net. Point Buy stats, average HP, standard equipment plus one Rare, two Uncommon, and 2000 GP. No Evil characters, no joke characters. 💬I am happy to meet with you in private for a "mini session zero" to discuss expectations, rules, safety, etc. It's very important that everyone feels comfortable at my table. Based on Session Zero discussion, for this game we would prefer no evil 😈characters or over-the-top joke 🤡characters. You will build your character at https://www.dndbeyond.com/ - once you have joined the game you'll have access to my library. If you prefer to use Roll20's character sheet, you may, but you will have to bring your own books. Use either Point Buy or Standard Array for abilities. Average HP. Standard Starting Equipment plus one Rare Magic Item, two Uncommon (or less) Magic Items, and 2000 GP to spend on mundane gear. This can include standard healing potions for 50GP each and up to five Greater Healing Potions for 250 GP each. You may use any official, published, D&D 2014 Edition material. No Unearthed Arcana, 3rd party material, or homebrew without prior approval.

Preparing for the session
📹Prefer a video demo? Everything you need to get set up can be found here: https://youtu.be/_6SyrnIG9HQ Your #1 priority is to have a working microphone, headset, and a stable internet connection. If you have those, I am always happy to help you through everything else. You will need access to Discord for voice chat. This can be on your computer or mobile device. Video chat is optional. You will need free accounts on dndbeyond.com and roll20.net. What ColoradoDM Brian P brings to the table
💪My Strengths: - Over 30 years experience gaming with every kind of group. - Reliable long-term games: Over 90% of my campaigns finish as scheduled. Cancelled sessions are very rare. - Flexibility and Communication so we can work together to tell a great story. - Tactical combat: I understand the rules but do not let them bog us down. - Storytelling: Sometimes the 'Rule of Cool' is how legends are made. ⚠️My Limitations: - I am not a voice actor, especially when it comes to accents. With this in mind, I work to make interactions memorable in other ways. - I can be forgetful. I keep notes to help alleviate this. I also give incentives to players who choose to help recap and take notes. You'll have access to a private Discord server with dedicated game channels and open channels to chat with other players. We will use maps and tokens via Roll20 to simulate the experience of playing around a table with friends. I will share all D&D sourcebooks via dndbeyond.com. I enhance the atmosphere with ambient music as well as image, audio, and video handouts. I do use AI to produce some of these, and they are clearly labeled as such.
