About the adventure

How to prepare
If you are new to my campaigns, please at least have the following ready before Session Zero - 1) A general idea of race/class. 2) A general idea for your back story 3) At least a minimum knowledge of game mechanics 4) A good attitude The following are required - 1) A capable computer 2) A Discord account 3) A DnD Beyond account 4) A Roll20 account 5) Beyond20 extension 6) A decent audio input and output set-up. Optional - Webcam Things to know ahead of time- My Pet Peeves - a) Constant and habitual Social Media distractions. b) A lack of courtesy My "See you later, BYE!" list - The following will be a kick, ban, and no refund - Player v Player abuse of any kind. What I provide
I bring 40+ years of play experience and 35+ years DM experience. I have run strict "Out of the Box" campaigns, Home brewed campaigns, and "Seat of the Pants" Sandbox campaigns. I improvise well and know the difference between a story line and a railroad. I utilize an "Open Door" policy when it comes to characters, sessions, ideas, and desires for gameplay. I also bring access to NEARLY all source books that include character races, classes, subclasses, and backgrounds. I am also constantly adding Physical/Digital bundles to my collection on a regular basis.
Gameplay details
*FIRST AND FOREMOST* - this is a campaign set in the Domains of Dread. That means that even with everything listed above, there may be additional unpleasantries that arise. One of the most important Sessions in this setting is Session ZERO during which players and myself will build a "Lines and Veils" document. The settings for this campaign involve many Horror Genres and Tropes, which is why it is a 18+ campaign. A Direct Message "X,N,O" system will be in place for use by any player at any time needed. Session Zero - Characters will be created or refined, backstories created or reviewed, House Rules will be discussed, "X,N,O" and "Lines and Veils Document" agreed upon, player expectations and DM style discussed, potential problems wrestled with, and will also include a discussion about my take on the Domains of Dread and how they fit into Cosmology. Sessions will typically run between 3-4 hours, but may run over a little from time to time.

How will character creation work
Character creation for this campaign will be using a modified point system, a modified method of progression, and additional Feats based upon level advancement. The result of the system used is a finer tuning AS YOU increase in levels and an increased power level based more upon Character ability than what Magic Items they may posses at any given moment. Background Selection - Make your background fit your Character's story. For example - A 1st level Fighter that has a back story that involves humble beginnings is just not going to have the Far Traveler background... Back Story - Back stories will be used throughout the campaign to make things more personal for your characters. They should be thorough but concise. At the end of your backstory, you will be asked to list the following - a) Your darkest secret b) The person/thing/pet that means the most to you c) Your favorite food d) Your worst memory
