About the adventure

The day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empire's authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege. Remember this. Try. The Empire has destroyed Alderaan. The Rebel Alliance has destroyed the machine they made to do so. After two decades in the wilderness the call of Rebellion has finally been heard across the galaxy. The Empire’s symbol of oppression and control has been broken by a rebel cell, which means the time for Revolution is upon us. Other notes: System: FFG Star Wars (Age of Rebellion) Setting: Immediately Following Star Wars: A New Hope. The party is a small rebel cell reacting to the destruction of the first Death Star. Just try and fight against the giant panicking Galactic Empire. Remember Andor, it’s back in RPG Form. Starting at base XP, so it’s going to be a real uphill battle.

About me

I have been playing tabletop RPGs for over a decade, and running the games I’ve played for nearly as long. I was introduced to gaming working at a ren faire as street cast, and the connection between the two has always been a part of my gaming. What that means is that I try to run games as a collaborative storytelling experience, working with the players to build a character driven narrative using my decade of improv experience. The result of this is a game and a story that is reactive to player actions. And despite my kind of auteur and philosophical approach, my instincts are sort of pure comedy and b-movie. I look to create entertaining setpieces and offer wild characters and story beats. Because in the end, I am just trying to have fun.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen at session 0 with players building characters in the OggDude’s Character Generator and discussing character connections, arcs, and themes.

The current party

Elevator Pitch: You are a local rebel cell immediately following the news of the destruction of the Death Star breaking across the galaxy. The revolution is on. System: FFG Star Wars (Age of Rebellion) Setting: Immediately Following Star Wars: A New Hope. Time: Saturday, noon eastern time.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need to be able to enter and participate in a voice call and download the OggDude’s Character Generator and GM Tools (a channel with links is provided in the discord to facilitate this).

What karmicknight brings to the table

I will provide a discord channel for a bot that rolls the FFG Star Wars dice and track some of the other mechanics for that system and a link to (along with a dataset and instructions to update) OggDude’s Character Generator. Also a number of smaller visual aids will end up being gathered and provided during actual play.

How karmicknight creates a safe table

The game will be built around a smooth and light interpretation of the rules and run through discord with player use of the Oggdude character creation tool. Session 0 will include character creation, discussion of game mechanics, player story expectation, and a discussion of available safety tools.
