About the adventure
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have super powers? In the year 2083, the Caribbean island of New Wuhan (formerly Puerto Rico) is a modern edge, global utopian society. Three months after an unexplained anomaly in the night sky some individuals have discovered or unlocked latent super powers on the island. As students of New Wuhan University, which is filled with a variety of individuals from all corners of the world, you will find companions also discovering their amazing abilities. Together you will discover the benefits and complications of what being superhuman offers while attempting to juggle personal lives. Rise of Heroes in New Wuhan is designed to create a slightly futuristic world with relatable, emotional stakes for each player to be personally become invested in the cooperative story. Players will have the ability to make choices that influence what their characters will become as they grow into their various, unique powers and abilities; hopefully one day forming a super hero team to take on greater threats. This home-brewed super hero game will use the standard 5e mechanics for game concepts but will be more about role play/choices and less about dice. LGBTQ+ friendly game

About me
Hey, I am Jonathon but you can call me Jona. I am a long time nerd who loves everything from science to science fiction, history to fantasy, music and art. I was introduced to TTRPGs when I was a kid and when I found Dungeons and dragons in the mid 2000s I was hooked. I love introducing the game to new people, so naturally I had to become a GM. Creating your character
Players will be making customized characters with unique powers, that will be established one on one and in session 0. The characters will all be around college age and have a reason to be at or around the university. Each player will establish their characters back story, power origin, some personal NPCs and their motivations. You will choose from the following list for your powers origins: Psychic abilities, Mutation, an ancient artifact, technology or a symbiotic relationship with an entity.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All players will need a microphone and discord for game sessions. Players will also have to come up with character ideas and a backstory, including what they do in their daily lives, and establishing personal family and friend relationships.
What Jonathon brings to the table
New Wuhan is a homebrew concept game. I will be bringing an immersive, interactive, futuristic world for your characters to live in and explore. There will be interesting NPCs and real world situations, lots of images for inspiration and the roots of a super hero story that we will grow and create together.

How Jonathon creates a safe table
Campaign Session 0 will start with lines and veils, then more detailed information, answering questions, about the game setting to help acclimate the players to the world. We will also flesh out characters and interpersonal relations. Character creation will be comprehensive and will in part take place one on one in discord, and group chats where players will be able to discus character ideas, art and opinions. During game, we will have a break somewhere around the mid way point, but we also have an open door policy: if you need to take a moment for personal reasons there is no problem. After sessions, players are welcome to check in with the DM for any questions, thoughts or concerns.
