About the adventure
Whispers of war have reached your ears. A fleet of elves has been seen. Dwarves have come out of their mountain kingdoms searching for something. Dark figures in cloaks have been reported on the roads. And rangers are reporting that droves of goblins, ogres, and barbarians are on the march. You have grown up on the continent of Ansalon, a world without gods. Or at least without gods anymore. Magic - which gets its power from the three moons - of any kind is mistrusted by most and war is so common that steel is often more valuable than gold. A deep stirring within you has driven you to seek justice in a maddened world. More than three centuries ago, the gods, angry with the mortals for their hubris and disrespect for freedom of others, destroyed the empire of Istar, its Kingpriest, and much of world of Krynn along with it. The gods have since been silent. Millenia ago, Huma Dragonbane defeated Takhisis - Temptress, She of the Many Faces, Dragon Queen - and her chromatic dragons, banishing them from the world. To maintain balance, the metallic dragons went into seclusion. What will you do? How will you rise to the occasion? Will you seek out the old gods? Forge ahead with lunar magic? Join the Knights of Solamnia? Play as a wanderlusting kender, a haughty Silvanesti elf, a mad scientist gnome, a complicated human, a rare half-elf, a grudge-holding dwarf? Take up arms, wands, and whatever else you can find and fight for the freedom of Ansalon. And, ultimately, the entire world of Krynn.

One rainy morning, I walked into the game room that popped up to replace the playground and heard dice and excited chatter. Thirty-two years later, I'm playing all the games I can find. I've been DMing for almost that entire time. Almost every edition of D&D, two of Star Wars and WoD each, and a scattered few others. I like to run games that assume the characters don't know everything. The fear of Around The Corner. Pure diamonds right there. I like to run games that assume the players might know everything. The active assent to suspension of disbelief. Chyeah buddy. I like to run games that are fun for everyone. That continue on in your noggin even after you’ve left the table.

Creating your character
🧝♀️ ⚔️ 💥 Pregenerated Characters will be available, but: 1️⃣ Experienced players may create their character ahead of time. Standard array, point but, or rolling in Discord. Certain races don’t exist in Krynn. Talk to me about this if it is bothersome. Certain classes exist but have strong lore-based caveats/prejudices. So just send me a message. Outside of lore restrictions, if you can make a role-playing case for it existing, I’m open to any of the official books including Legacy books. 2️⃣ Newer players that sign up at least 5 days out from the session can schedule a free character building session. 3️⃣ Experienced or new players will have Pregenerated characters to choose from.
First week is free. This is a Discord and Roll20 play by post (PbP). Come play with long time fans of Dragonlance. Save Ansalon. Write your own Chronicles. Microphone not needed. You will be billed Monday morning for the upcoming week. I will not post on weekends, except in the Brass Crab (above table OOC chat).

Preparing for the session
Required (links below) ✅ Be willing to play a heroic character. The character can be flawed, or oddly motivated, of course. But this is a war against all-encompassing evil. ✅ Free Discord Account ✅ Free Roll20 Account (and have a basic understanding of using it) ✅ Microphone for in-game use ✅ Have read (at a minimum) Basic Rules Chapters 7, 9, and 10 (a total of about 20 pages). We will use (the free) Session 0 to make sure we are all on the same page. Dragonlance can be a brutal setting and is not for everyone. And that is OK. That's a big reason why Session 0 is free. In game, we will use scheduled breaks for snacky snacks and such - but more importantly for decompression.
