With a loud crack and flash a small thunder dragon hits a tree in your yard... ...This one has a message! Something woke up in the nearby magitek ruins and Dragonfly Vale is calling for help! A village in the Crystalheart Range mountains, the only one where humans and dragons live happily side by side, is in need of your assistance! Only one small thunder dragon managed to slip out with this very message and landed in YOUR YARD! What happened? Are they in danger? Winter is coming (^_^) and the mountains are getting very tricky to navigate - time is running out! You assume the role of those who have embarked on this journey with courage and hope. You are called "Travelers". I invite you for a trilogy-starting-adventure taken straight out of a Studio Ghibli animation: The Tale of Kindness. About me
👋 Hey there! I'm Jacob, a seasoned RPG enthusiast with over 24 years of experience, over half of which I've dedicated to GMing, including 10 years professionally. I've been on this site for over a year, running countless games and earning solid reviews. My adaptability and extensive experience make every session unique and engaging. I thrive on workshopping with my players, ensuring their ideas seamlessly blend into our shared narrative. I teach English through RPGs, co-founded a school to do just that, and run corporate RPG teambuilding sessions. While D&D 5e is a staple, I'm increasingly drawn to narrative-driven systems like Avatar Legends and Ryuutama, with Numenera, Blades in the Dark and countless others holding a special place in my heart. Collaboration is my lifeblood, and I actively encourage player input to enhance our games. I'm adept at handling technical issues and welcoming new players, primarily running games online. I prefer the theatre of the mind but leverage modern tools and macros for a smoother experience. 📖 We play in the world of “Ryuutama,” the natural fantasy RPG! 📖 This is (mostly) a positive and warm game - no murderhoboing permitted. Sorry. :) - The world of Ryuutama is created by four dragons of the seasons and twenty dragons of land and sky. - Players take on the role of Travelers, embarking on a journey through unknown lands. - The game offers seven different classes for players to choose from, such as Hunter, Merchant, and Minstrel and more. - Survival is a key aspect as the world is filled with monsters and hidden dangers. - Proper preparation, including equipping gear and stocking up on supplies, is essential for the Travelers' survival. - The game encourages creativity by allowing players to create their own world, including towns and environments. - The game emphasizes appreciating the beauty of nature and the changing seasons as part of the Travelers' journey. 💖 The adventure and the system are beginner friendly - I am as well.💖 I am completely open to the creative sides of my players and want to help them go through my stories the way THEY want to. 🏺We play using Foundry VTT - You can open it through a browser, no installing necessary. We will usually use only the most necessary functions (think PowerPoint on steroids + Dice), so it should be fairly easy to get into. I'll help with everything.🏺 ❗On Discord (session 0) we discuss the number of sessions expected, themes, tone, preferences, triggers, as well as start forming your characters and your friend-group. Anything that doesn't get fleshed out there can be finished later, as we play (withing reason).
