About the adventure

The Macharian Sector is dying. From hive worlds choked by heresy to war-torn frontiers crawling with xenos, the Emperor’s light flickers in the void. The Inquisition stands as the last wall between mankind and oblivion—an order as secretive as it is ruthless. You are their chosen: specialists, psykers, soldiers, zealots, and sinners, bound together by faith and necessity. Your orders are simple: protect the Imperium at any cost. The price may be your blood, your mind, or your soul. Each mission drags you deeper into a sector unraveling from within. Political corruption, cult uprisings, and alien infiltrations form a web of deceit and decay. You’ll hunt heretics through hive-city shadows, bargain with Rogue Traders, and uncover forbidden truths buried in the ashes of forgotten worlds. Built on deep research into Imperial archives, apocrypha, and forbidden arcana, every revelation is grounded in real 40k lore. This is a living, cinematic sandbox powered by Imperium Maledictum (Cubicle 7). Your choices shape not only your warband’s fate but the destiny of entire systems. Between missions, the sector continues to shift: factions rise and fall, cults spread, and the Inquisition’s web tightens around you. Using Mythveil’s Living-World design, factions act independently, NPCs evolve, and the Macharian Sector reshapes itself even when you’re not watching. If you crave stories of sacrifice, faith, and fire—if you want to feel the weight of the Imperium on your shoulders and the Warp breathing down your neck—then step forward, acolyte. The Inquisition has need of you. But beware: in the Emperor’s service, even victory can taste like damnation.

About me

LLooking for the cinematic GM your dreams warned you about? That’s me. I was raised by shadows and storybooks. My first GM screen was a cereal box in the ’80s. My dice were chipped — my imagination wasn’t. Since then, I’ve told tales in blood-soaked crypts, neon back-alleys, and forgotten cities buried beneath the sand. I’m not just a Game Master. I’m a narrative architect, a ritualist of consequence, and the creator of Mythveil Chronicles — a living multiverse powered by deep research, emotional storytelling, and a world-simulation engine that reacts to every choice you make. I hold a Master’s in History, Religion, and Philosophy, so even my monsters come with footnotes. Over the decades I’ve run games for hundreds of players, hosted international LARP chronicles, and built campaigns where every NPC, every legend, and every location has roots in real-world folklore. When you play at my table, you’re not just part of a story. You step into a world that breathes with you… and without you. And from the moment you arrive, you’re already a legend in the making.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation takes place before Session 1 through a guided process on Discord and Foundry VTT. You don’t need any books or rules knowledge — everything is provided, and I walk you through each step personally. You will create an Inquisition-selected operative: a specialist chosen for your origin, creed, skills, and scars. Attributes follow the standard Imperium Maledictum rules, but in Mythveil campaigns, who you are matters as much as what you can roll. Your home world, belief system, patron, loyalties, and past decisions all shape how the Macharian Sector reacts to you. All core careers and species from the official rulebook are allowed; no homebrew is needed. Your background choices tie directly into the living sector simulation: factions remember you, contacts shift, and your alliances or enemies may rise during downtime. By the end of character creation, you will not only have an operative — you will have a place in the Inquisition’s web, a past that pulls forward, and a future the Sector itself will answer to.

The current party

Your warband serves under a single Inquisitor, united by duty rather than trust. Each acolyte is a specialist chosen for a specific skill — soldier, psyker, agent, zealot, or scholar — working within a fragile alliance of faith and survival. Expect a mixed party of combat veterans, investigators, and social operatives. No one is the hero here; everyone has secrets, scars, and conflicting loyalties. Success often depends on how well you work together when paranoia and fear take hold. Team balance between tactical strength, investigative insight, and moral conviction is encouraged. Whether you serve with faith, fire, or cunning, remember: in the Inquisition, failure is heresy… and heresy is death.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

No previous Warhammer 40K or Imperium Maledictum experience is required — both new and veteran players are welcome. All you need is curiosity, a stable mic, and the courage to step into the grimdark. We play on Foundry VTT with Discord for voice and coordination. Character creation happens before Session 1 through a guided process, ensuring every acolyte fits seamlessly into the Inquisition’s ranks and the living sector simulation. All rolls, combat, investigations, and social encounters are handled directly in Foundry. Handouts, ambient sound, and cinematic visuals bring the Macharian Sector to life. Between missions, you’ll follow sector updates, rumors, and shifting faction agendas through the Influence Matrix on Discord. You don’t need books or prior rules knowledge. Everything required is provided during onboarding. Bring your faith, your ambition — and be ready to serve.

What Dunchan Hunter brings to the table

Every Mythveil campaign is forged from deep research across every era of Warhammer lore—core books, lost editions, overlooked supplements, and forbidden fragments. The Macharian Sector is a living organism: factions maneuver in the dark, the world shifts between sessions, and your Influence can open archives, expose cults, or ignite wars. Tactical battles burn bright, play-by-post threads keep the story alive, and every choice echoes through a sector that refuses to stay still. This isn’t a campaign. It’s a breathing chronicle of faith, fear, and consequence.

Homebrew rules

This campaign uses two custom systems to make the Macharian Sector feel alive: The Influence Matrix – Every major faction (Imperium, Xenos, Chaos) acts during downtime between sessions. Their actions shape news, rumors, and mission difficulty. Player choices directly influence which powers rise or fall across the sector. Living World Simulation – The Macharian Sector evolves in real time. Planets change hands, cults spread, alliances shift, and the Inquisition reacts to your success or failure. No two campaigns are ever the same. These systems ensure that every mission matters — your victories echo across the stars, and your failures leave scars on the galaxy itself.

Safety

How Dunchan Hunter creates a safe table

Your safety and comfort come first. Before Session 1, we hold a short onboarding session on Discord to discuss tone, themes, and personal boundaries. We set Lines & Veils together in conversation — no forms, no pressure, just clarity and trust. During play, we use a single safety tool: the X-Card. You can activate it at any moment, by voice or chat, for any reason. When the X-Card is used, the scene stops immediately and we shift, fade, or reframe without questions or explanations. Pausen sind jederzeit möglich. If something feels off, overwhelming, or emotionally heavy, simply say so — we pause, talk, or adjust immediately. You can also message me privately at any time; I am always reachable for support. At the end of each session, we take a brief moment for optional aftercare: a check-in, a cool-down, or space to decompress after intense scenes. The setting may be grimdark — but the table is always safe, respectful, and built for you.
