About the adventure
Zordon has detected three spikes of Grid energy in Angel Grove, and now reports are coming in that three people went missing from those exact three spots! No doubt this is one of Rita Repulsa's schemes. Though you and your fellow Rangers have only just completed your training, it's up to you to find out what happened and return the missing persons home. For this one shot, you'll play as one of six pre-made rangers: black, blue, green, pink, yellow, or red. Then, as a team, piece together clues to track down the culprit (and presumably kick the crap out of them). The session will be suitable for players new to the Essence 20 system the Power Rangers RPG runs on, as well as for new players in general.

About me
Greetings, adventurers! Like most DMs, I got started as a player and then experimented with one-shots. As someone who writes plenty of horror, I'm happy to run creepy, thrilling, or terrifying adventures, especially around Halloween. I'm equally excited to run low-stakes shenanigans and puzzle-based gameplay. Sometimes I homebrew, and sometimes I draw on premade settings or adventures. But no matter what, I'll make sure everyone at the table is included and having a good time (no matter what mishaps are befalling your characters)

Creating your character
There are six pre-made character sheets for rangers. Players will choose and customize their ranger at the beginning of the session (I'll have the rules on hand to explain perks, etc.)

What to expect
Preparing for the session
I'll be hosting the players via Discord and maps via Owlbear Rodeo, with premade characters provided. Therefore, players will need the following: -A stable internet connection -A Discord account -To join the Discord server prior to Session 0 -A way to participate in Discord text chat (if this isn't feasible for disability reasons, please give me a heads-up so I can accommodate) -A microphone to participate in Discord voice chat (if this isn't feasible for disability reasons, please give me a heads-up so I can accommodate) -A webcam for video chat (optional, you're not required to show your face) -The ability to complete a Google survey -The ability to join an Owlbear room -Dice (optional, my Owlbear room has virtual dice enabled)
What Julia LaFond brings to the table
I will provide a Discord server to host text, voice, and video chat -- including side channels in case a player and I need to discuss something in secret during gameplay. Premade character sheets will be provided. I also have an Owlbear Rodeo 2.0 account, which will include custom maps + tokens, virtual dice, and an initiative tracker. Oh, and I also have the core ruleset for the Power Rangers Roleplaying Game. But most importantly, I'll be doing my best to make sure everyone is having a good time (with the possible exception of the characters)
Homebrew rules
I tend to ignore the rule about "rough terrain next to enemies"

How Julia LaFond creates a safe table
Before the session I'll send out a Google form to collect anonymous information on Lines and Veils, where Lines are topics players don't want featured in the game, and Veils are topics they'd prefer to be glossed over if they come up. We'll discuss the aggregated Lines and Veils, expectations for the game, player questions, tech compatibility, and the rest of the safety tools before we start playing. But to briefly review the rest: X, N, and O are digital (can be typed in text chat, said vocally, or mimed on video chat), with the possibility of digital tokens in Owlbear Rodeo. Open Door means anyone can call a break or step away for their own wellbeing without being judged for it. Stars and Wishes mean that at the end of each session, all players will have the chance to say a Star (something they enjoyed about the session) and a Wish (something they hope for in the next session, including areas that could improve). I'm also glad to discuss concerns, including clarifying the content warnings, before the one-shot via direct message. Additional CW: clowns I'll be hosting the players via Discord and maps via Owlbear Rodeo.
