About the adventure
A crackling lightning train leaps from its tracks! An elemental airship hurtles through the towers of Sharn! A massive construct smashes its way into a subterranean lair! In the country of Breland, a plot begins to unfold which catches in its wake a group of mercenaries and adventurers thrown together by fate, and what follows could lead the continent of Khorvair into another war or bring forward a new age of wonder and magic.
Meet the Game Master
About me
I have been running TTRPGs since 2009, starting with 4th Edition D&D and expanding to Pathfinder, Star Wars, Cyberpunk, and more. I pride myself on player-centered games where clever and creative play is encouraged and strong bonds of fellowship can flourish. I also place an emphasis on respect, engagement, and inclusion. Unless we all feel safe and comfortable, we can't get the most out of this wonderful game.

Creating your character
I will meet with each player individually before Session 1 to discuss campaign themes and character concepts. The player may choose to create their character then one-on-one, or if the group is interested we can have a group Session 0 where we roll up our investigators together.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All players will need a good internet connection and a microphone in order to participate in the voice chat during play. Voice will be over Discord, video and VTT will be over Foundry. I will be on camera and encourage anyone who is comfortable and able to also be join with video, as this will help players send and receive social cues during roleplay. Character sheets will be built on Foundry, with easy-to-use macros to allow streamlined play. Dice may be rolled digitally on Foundry or in person. I trust to the honor system, and fudging dice only deprives the player of the chance to be surprised by the story.
What Matthew brings to the table
I will set the table on Foundry, with maps and NPC art and handouts. I am happy to incorporate player input into the story provided at least 48 hours of time to include it in a given session. If players are interested in commissioning custom art of their investigators, I can recommend an artist.

How Matthew creates a safe table
Before play, I will meet with each player individually to discuss what they want from the campaign and what kind of character they will be portraying. Once play begins, I will provide on-screen tools for nonverbally requesting a stop to play or an adjustment if players become uncomfortable. Halfway through the session we will take a 15 minute break, and at any time a player may excuse themselves from play temporarily. After each session, I will be available for 15 minutes for anyone who wants to discuss the events of the session or just chat.
