About the adventure

Exactly a week ago, on September 24th 1920, the body of professor Charles Leiter was found dead in his office. The official cause released to the public was listed as a heart attack. Yet rumors have swirled around Arkham in the days since, and Dean of Arkham University, Bryce Fallon, has been utterly silent on the matter...until now. Instead of going to the police, the Dean instead has come to the University's resident investigative club, headed by Martin Crandall and Arthur Kingsley, fellow co-workers of Leiter. They, their students, and perhaps a few acquaintances of Martin are now on the case to figure out what exactly happened...and why, in addition to his sudden death, a case of academic papers on the Arkham Witch Trials the professor had been working on has also gone missing. __________________________________________ I'm Kat/Robin, a full-time Paid DM! Kat uses music and ambience to really get the players into the game, whether to build suspense or just feel the crash of thunder from a storm. I would recommend Kat to beginners and experienced players alike." -EagleEye "The investigation aspects of the adventure were outstanding, providing a plethora of clues and leads to follow. The interconnected nature of the clues kept us engaged as we pieced together the puzzle and delved into the mysteries surrounding the enigmatic "Letters." Even during the climax, I experienced the same sense of doom as my character, questioning his choices and alliances, which added a thrilling element to the game." - Cadwaladrr "This is my first time on COC Campaign and it is such an amazing experience! Kat is a great GM with pleasant voice and endless creativity! He not only created a super immersive gameplay using stunning visual materials/background music/RP, but also guide us new players as much as he could! If you are new to COC game, Kat's game is definitely your great start towards the COC world. :)" -Z "They were really attentive to the players. I really loved how they used the props and the game board to really enhance the story. I felt very comfortable being myself and playing the game." - Zackery

About me

🏳‍🌈Robin (or Kat) He/they/she (Not picky), LGBT+🏳‍🌈 Hello, nice to meet you! I'm a professional GM of two years with a focus on acting and storytelling, gravitating to RP heavy games and character driven narratives, having multiple year+ long campaigns already ongoing! My background is in writing, amateur acting, and improv. I am not a professional voice actor, but I do also do voices and am consistently expanding my abilities in that area...I've also been told I can do a near perfect sheep impression. 🐑 I am also a proud activist who values promoting inclusivity and safety for minority groups at my tables. Waterdeep: Dragon Heist is my comfort campaign and the one I'm known for, having written my own expansion and additional content on the setting and plot focusing more on the faction intrigue, exploration, and RP potential of the game that has been well recieved in the community. I am currently compiling a rewrite to release on DM's guild! ⭐Current Full Campaigns⭐ D&D 5e-Waterdeep Expanded (Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday nights) D&D 5e Curse of Strahd (Monday night) ⭐Campaigns Looking For Players⭐ Storm Over Phandalin (1/6 Players) ⭐Coming Soon? ⭐ I am interested in branching out to more game systems in upcoming months, and am looking to run some short adventures and one shots in the following systems. -Avatar Legends -Bladerunner the TTRPG -The One Ring TTRPG -Pathfinder 2e -Vampire: The Masquerade 5e -DIE! The Roleplaying Game -Monsterhearts -Cyberpunk RED -Delta Green Open to one-on-one PbP Duets on request! These start at $60/week for a base adventure, going up in price for custom games depending on the complexity and the rate of posting. This is negotiable to an extent, if you would like to reach out and discuss! ⭐Hiring for Private Events!⭐ I also host private events, though request at least a week and a half notice before the time you book me for to make sure I can set a game up to my standards and have time to fully discuss what you're looking for. This starts at $30/per person for a 3-4 hour session, price increase to $50/per person for longer sessions. I run for 2-5 people in these instances, rate increase also noted for larger groups. I need an advance notice of at LEAST a week, more if hiring for an adventure built from the ground up, which I will also need to discuss payment on as this takes far more time to customize on my end. This is potentially negotiable to an extent, if you would like to reach out and discuss!

As a player who is completely new to DnD, Robin is extremely welcoming, has incredible patience and deeply cares for the enjoyment and understanding of everyone at their table. They excel in embedding your character into the established world, clearly communicating ideas from relevant story arcs to intricate details that make both the character and world come to life. Each session has felt like diving into a rich narrative series, immersed by choices that creatively impact the story. The questlines are more passionately driven by character motivations as opposed to rigid linear pathways, and woven into each other in such a way that builds an evermoving world. They know the game inside and out, as well as each NPC that you encounter. And apart from the game itself, Robin strives for a collaborative table, ensuring that each player's voice is heard and that check-ins are regular. I would highly recommend this GM to any and all who enjoy roleplay, worldbuilding, and a game where you and your choices matter!

Super fun, easy to pick up even as a total beginner. Gives cues and nudges where appropriate without impacting the gameplay. Great worldbuilding, good atmosphere.

Kat is a great DM, and an all around great person! They put a lot of effort into their story weaving, and the attention to detail really shows. I've played about 10 sessions of this stylized and customized urban style campaign with Kat now, and the amount of player creative freedom she allows has been a breath of fresh air. Heavily roleplay focused, these sessions have really made it feel as though we are living, breathing entities in the world, and we are going to shape our story by our own means. It is delightful to have such an open and caring DM who considers everyone in the conversations, and makes sure everyone has a chance to shine. I look forward to more!

I recently started a Waterdeep campaign with Robin and I've already been impressed by the qualities that set them apart as a GM. Join a game with them if you want a GM as invested in your character as you are. They are dedicated to weaving your character into the narrative with a depth of care and conscientiousness you rarely find, and they are just as committed to communicating with you as a player to ensure your expectations are met and aligned. Robin inspires and rewards you for the thought behind your character, and exemplifies the potential of collaborative storytelling in DND. I have also been impressed by how much they elevate the module. Some folks might run module campaigns like a generic game of Madlibs, but Robin has clearly done a lot of work to customize and expand the content, on top of tailoring the plot beats to your group. They know Waterdeep and its inhabitants inside and out, and slip naturally into character and voices for the NPCs. If you value roleplay and worldbuilding, I highly recommend this GM!

I've been playing in one of Kat's campaigns for 10 sessions now. I can't recall when I've had so much fun playing D&D. Like me, she is a "Lore Nerd" and we have collaborated from character creation until present providing each other with tidbits we've discovered over the years playing in the Forgotten Realms. Kat weaves such an intriguing tale and portrays NPCs with so much detail that you feel you know them and want to be their friend. And she will match the effort you put in and up the ante. If you come to their table with an elaborate backstory, you will see elements cropping up here and there in the overall story. This makes all the effort you put into defining your character so much more rewarding. The more you put in the more you will get out. I've played TTFRPs since 1978. I've been in hundreds of campaigns with dozens of DMs. I'd put Kat in the top three without hesitation. I can't recommend her highly enough. The level of immersion is unsurpassed. I find myself looking forward to every session and dreading each one's end.

Character creation
Creating your character

Since I'm trying to make this friendly to new players, I have created nine different premade investigators with fleshed-out backgrounds and connections to the plot as well as other investigators. You will not need to create any character, and I'd advise against it as I've made this selection a good spread of skills and connections for the scenario as it will be run.

The current party

Bi Weekly sessions. No experience needed. Players with heavy interest in roleplaying preferred. Estimated 5-8 sessions in length!

What to expect
Preparing for the session

Computer and Internet required. High speed internet will make for a more enjoyable experience. Mic and headphones required (speakers cause echo). Install Discord app on computer. Everything else I will provide, including a selection of Premade Investigators with specific ties and hooks to the scenario. Players will not need knowledge of the system or of Roll20, though experience with both is appreciated!

What Robin brings to the table

* Voices, though I am by no means a professional actor! I do like to think I am constantly improving in that area, and have been told that I can do a near perfect sheep impression. * A dependable DM who has run the scenario multiple times and who works to have your characters feel real and developed into the story! * High quality maps, music, and props through Roll20, with personally made splashpages to give a solid theater of mind backdrop as well as tactical battlemaps! * A high value on communication and mutual respect. I take check ins and dealing with issues you have seriously, and am always open to discussing issues at the table you might have with respect.

How Robin creates a safe table

Call of Cthulhu is a game of horror classically, as this scenario will be, set in the 1920s. The warnings I put up are not things that will happen but could happen, even just in passing. I will be checking in with everyone beforehand about what we need to do to make sure in-game horror does not turn into out-of-game horror and the tools in place for people to make any discomfort that gets too in the way of their enjoyment known. Before and after every session, as well as at breaks, I'll check in with everyone about how we're doing if there's been any hard scenes, and I will have a X card set to place down at any time.
