About the adventure
Come explore a living sandbox world where you can expect to find elements of a survival hex crawl in tier one and may end up in dungeons, on the open sea, or even visiting other lands depending on where the players bring us! The campaign is based in the adventure setting explored in Tomb of Annihilation module. We will meet many of the unique people groups and beasts that carve out their survival from this wild land. In Port Nyanzaru, as you find rest between expeditions, you will find plenty of intrigue among the color and history of the welcoming Chultan people. Where we end up after that is up to the group. Come find your share of the wonder that is Chult! - UPDATE: The group is level 9 and barely escaped with their lives from the tomb. They are re-grouping and hoping to go deal with some issues they left behind in the Tomb of Horrors. The campaign is expected to continue for several months after as the group is excited to continue with additional story archs and plots that they have discovered along the way. We will see if they decide to deal with this massive dragon that threatens from the south, or perhaps they will peruse Ras Nsi and the threat he poses as they seek the return of Mezro? My campaigns are long term. Backgrounds and player choices / desires are highly instrumental in how I shape each campaign (And typically effect future ones). I love tactical combat with unique challenges. I push a great deal to help my players experience the role play pillar, and the setting provides plenty of opportunity for world and plot exploration. I love filling in parts of D&D that I often see missed or lacking in the rules such as tool proficiencies, player involvement in shaping the world (npcs, locations, and plot), and encouraging creativity out of session such as mid week rp posting, art, journaling, and so forth. New players are welcome. We will help you get up to speed in combat and encourage you in your role playing. Creating your character
Characters will be created during or after a session zero with the GM where concepts and introduction ideas are discussed. This session is always free of charge and will be done over discord. Characters will be made in D&D Beyond. Characters will be created using point buy (with 30 points rather than typical 27). The party is currently level 9.
The group has finished ToA. Currently level 10. Continuing on beyond the tomb and looking to further explore, build, and protect Chult from new threats. What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need the following: A stable internet connect, mic, camera, and a free Discord account. Invitations to the campaign on foundry & D&D Beyond will provided through discord.
What The Gen X GM brings to the table
I will meet briefly with the players on Discord to ensure the campaign is a good fit. My user name there is PNWGamer#7111. Alternatively you can contact me through Startplaying.com, though I check that box less frequently. I will provide access to all the rules and books you will need via D&D Beyond or Discord. You will have access during and outside of session time. I will manage a dedicated discord server where you can chat with the other players between sessions. I bring a number of 3rd party resources to expand on tool proficiencies, crafting, magic items, spells, monsters and so forth. You will get a one-on-one coaching session for character creation, game-strategy, or general campaign discussion as needed.

How The Gen X GM creates a safe table
The adventurers have cleared much of the tomb, though they are heading back in shortly to deal with some issues they left as they fled for their lives before. We have several ongoing campaign archs to continue with the next few months of play after that. There will be NO explicit sexual material (that is an X for the DM), and the game will avoid LGBTQIA+ topics and material. We may run into NPCs who flirt or take a shine to the characters or similar though. This will be a great opportunity to work on your "Critical Role" voice acting in a game with some guidance and NO JUDGEMENT. We are here to have fun and learn how to play the ways that bring us great memories and stories to tell!
