About the adventure

Welcome to Candlekeep! This game is a compilation of random mysteries happening in Candlekeep itself and in the world of Forgotten Realms. The blight is the overarching plot and I have hand picked and created some of my own stories in there to make it have a consistent villain. This game is great for newer players to experienced players.

About me

I enjoy playing dnd, have since I was a young girl, and started playing dnd again a bit when I was nineteen. When the pandemic started, I decided to look for one thing that I could do online...play dnd. I've been playing 5th edition rather consistently since then. Have completed three campaigns, and one of those was one I dmed for my friends. I decided to start dming professionally after hearing my friend and several other dm's at Dragon Con, about professional dming. I am currently dming a module campaign of Candlekeep with my own characters added and own story woven into the background of the game. I am brewing up a homebrew, with 5th edition rules mostly, but with a few things changed. I plan on seeking out other games that I am interested in and possibly dming them in the future; Call of Cthulu, Dragon Age, Doctor Who, and a few more. If your curious about my dm style, I love to role play it out and I do love combat. Not so much murder hoboing it out, but some times, it could get a little heavy with combat. My NPC's have backstories, and most of them are romancable but that means rolling some percentage die and taking risks...as we all do in love. My players have said that my games are a fair variety with a mix of laughs and good times.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will start at level one and can expect to make it to 16. Create them on Roll20 or DndBeyond. I expect players to create them before the game. If they need any help, I will gladly respond to any dms with questions. I have more sourcebooks available on DndBeyond, and will gladly share a campaign for them to utilize that.

The current party

We have a bard, paladin, druid and barbarian.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players need a mic to play, because we do play online on discord over chat. No additional rules to this game aside from dnd. No additional software, there is digital dice on roll20 and dndbeyond so need for physical dice or a printout. Unless a player likes having a printout of their sheet.

What Jess brings to the table

I will bring my characters, my story and my ability to be silly at the right moments and serious when needed. Most of the maps are from the modules themselves, but I am interested in making more of my own maps.

Safety

How Jess creates a safe table

I will be sharing a slide of my lines and veils document in my session zero with you. If you have anything you would like to add, I'll add that.
