D&D 5e: The Undead Adventure
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Welcome to an undead adventure in my world of Volungandr! Set in a high-fantasy world where technology and magic combine, you can think of the world as similar to the 1930s in the United States in terms of development. After a brutal world war and a demonic plague*, a powerful lich has claimed new lands as "payment" for his assistance in saving the world and its people. Now he must face one of the most daunting tasks he has ever faced: his marketing department. While his declaration of the creation of his undead Kingdom of the Glacial Sun has gone unchallenged, it doesn't mean his new kingdom is properly respected...or feared. After assembling his nobles and dividing up his new kingdom, he has reached out to various groups of more "viable" undead in his kingdom to take on a great challenge: Travel the land and build relationships with the living, cementing trade routes and allies to better strengthen his fledgling empire. This is where you come in. As one of his selected emissaries, you and your undead companions will be sent on a mission to better the lives of others, slay monsters, and rake in the praise for your dark master. And, if all that fails, there's always instilling terror into your enemies**. **This campaign, while not intended to be "edgy" or overly dark, has the potential for dark times and themes. It will be marked 18+ for this reason. I will also be hosting a Session Zero to meet everyone and go over the playable undead races and more. Likewise, I'm always happy to chat with someone that may join at a later date through our discord. *This world and the entire multi-year plague campaign were written and finalized before Covid-19. Unfortunately, there are a startling amount of similarities between the two, and it was a major, world-changing saga. I want people to know that before going in, as that was a trying time for all of us and it may harbor bad memories.
This is the current Undead Campaign.

How to prepare
Players will need dice, character sheets, and a microphone and computer/tablet at the minimum. I prefer being able to see everyone's face as well, but I understand that some players may not be comfortable being on camera if we are on Twitch. Players will also need a Roll20 account, a Discord account, at least passing knowledge of the world (nothing crazy, just knowing basics like who their boss is, the overall technology of the world, and the major factions, which are The Dominus Imperita, the Briar Regency, and The Tsarys of the Iron Rain.), and are encouraged to bring some form of creative expression to help keep track of the campaign, whether that's through sketches, note-taking, poetry, or other mediums. I also mail things to my players, such as Welcome Packets or letters from various characters/organizations, so a mailing address that would be kept private is also recommended.
What I provide
I will bring my world, a Roll20 campaign (If I have constant players, I can upgrade to Pro), a Discord, a Google Doc containing all of the necessary information for the world and campaign, I make my own maps sometimes, and I often mail things to players. I also make playlists for important characters. Come March, I should have access to the new Menyr system, including 4 or 5 player seats. I do not have any online resources other than what I've made, so I will be unable to provide any rulebooks at this time.
Gameplay details
This is meant to be a more lighthearted approach on the undead, more in line with horror-comedy. I like to mix good roleplay sessions and intense combat sessions, and I'm comfortable with a wide array of storylines. I adore creativity from my players and am happy to bend rules for creative ideas (within reason), so don't be afraid to ask. I've taught tons of people to play and I run for veteran players as well, so all skill levels are welcome. As far as I'm concerned, it's not just my story. It's yours too. This is set for 4 to 5 players. Other than the official Reborn race, I will be designing multiple undead races, including Vampires, Skeletons, Zombies, and Ghouls. This is a homebrew campaign set in a homebrew world where firearms, tanks, airships, and magic all collide. There will be a Google Doc provided with various homebrew rules and items for you to browse, and I will be updating the world as we go. Depending on player involvement, this could run several months or several years. I prefer roughly 3 hour sessions, but understand that sometimes play may go longer. I do plan to stream this from my Twitch channel, which is very small at the moment. While gore and dark themes are expected, they are far from the focus of this game. Also, there will never be sexual assault in this game or any that I run. Other than that, I am open to meeting with players both privately and openly to discuss any issues, traumas, or triggers that they may wish to discuss.

How will character creation work
Characters will start at level 3, and they will be created after Session Zero. I am happy to help during Session Zero, but recognize players may need time to think about it and will probably want to create their characters after the fact. I'm also old fashioned and prefer paper character sheets, as I've never learned how to use D&D Beyond.
