About the adventure
Having recently arrived at the small village of Phandalin, you've been hired by Sildar Hallwinter to rescue his husband, Gundren Rockseeker. Kidnapped by a band of goblins and hobgoblins, he's been hauled off to Cragmaw Castle, a ruined castle on the edge of Neverwinter Wood. Gundren had recently found a map of Wave Echo Cave, the fabled Lost Mine of Phandelver. Sildar thinks he's been kidnapped because of this, and has promised you 100gp each, if you can find and return Gundren. (This adventure is adapted from Chapter 3 of the Lost Mine of Phandelver adventure into a one-shot adventure, designed to be welcoming and accessible for beginner players. It is for 3-6 characters of level 3.)

About me
Since falling in love with the Baldur's Gate games as a child, I've been playing some from of RPG for most of my life. For 14 years I've run all sorts of games, starting with Dungeons and Dragons, but trying out Shadowrun, Vampire: the Masquerade, Warhammer, Battletech, and more! I always love the unique storytelling experience you get from combining the creativity and inventiveness of players, with the frameworks of the mechanics and encounters I lay down. No two adventures are alike, and I love to share the hobby with as many people as I can. I've run all sorts of campaigns, from pre-written adventures like Curse of Strahd and adventures in established worlds (like Shadowrun) to my own custom games, with elaborately hand-crafted maps, reactive story-telling, and intriguing plots.

Creating your character
Before the session, tell me a little about the character you want to play, and I will make a character for you on D&D Beyond, that you can claim. Alternatively, if you are familiar with D&D, you can join the D&D Beyond campaign and make your own character. Ability scores will be set using the standard array, or point buy. All characters will be Level 3, and from official materials (no homebrew).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a mic, and preferably a webcam, but if you don't have a webcam, that's totally okay. I think it just makes things more personal. Aside from telling me about your character, or making it yourself, you don't need to do anything else.
What Jack brings to the table
I have a D&D Beyond subscription, and a discord server where we will play. We'll be using the D&D Beyond tools for dice rolling, so no dice are needed.
