Creating your character

Roll 4d6's and remove the lowest number. (1 , 2 , 3, 6)since 1 is the lowest, you remove it. Then add (2 + 3 + 6) then you add that together (11) you do this for each of the six ability scores. After you've finished, I've added a bit of a personal homebrew mechanic here. Add up all six of your ability scores together and it'll be a total number. Often, 70 is the average number. In my games, I recommend having your stats at least 75. If you are under 70, you best reroll your stats. The maximum I allow is 80 (that includes additional modifiers from races). This helps keep races/classes balanced and fair. I allow you to reroll your stats 3 times. After the third time, you are stuck with what you got and have to add or lower a certain amount for your ability score to the minimum level. I may also adjust your scores if you're too far off from the others to make it more fair and balanced out. After that it's all basic and typical character creation, but choose your proficient skill carefully! I want to make proficient skills used more actively. Certain things you can't do if you aren't proficient with! Other times I will allow you to do them if the modifier is high enough. As for gold, this is based on your backgrounds. I'd like the players to prepare before session 1. During session 0 we can talk more in-depth about your character just so we can make sure no players are clashing with each other and alignments aren't clashing neither! Wouldn't be good to have a evil player and a good player in the party. Well... unless it's executed well. Hehe...

Preparing for the session

Players are required to have a microphone. I will not tolerate racism in any form (unless of course it's roleplay/game importance for obvious reason). Bashing or slurring other players will not be accepted at my table what so ever. My games will be completed over online play, through Discord Voice Chat. So you do not need to BTOD (Bring your own dice). In terms of your characters, there is no required method I want you to make your characters. As long as I briefly check it and give the okay, it's fine. I will be showing the players the main map of the world as well as asking the players how they'd like to arrive to the continent. I think this is fun and interesting as it gives the players the opportunity to play as a DM and choose there method of travel. That means you'll need to either send me a link from Dndbeyond a PDF or some way for me to validate your inventory, spells and ability scores. I promise I will never look at your sheet unless I accuse you of cheating, during player deaths that could be prevented, or other essential or necessary means.

What Robotic brings to the table

You do not need to bring anything, as this will be a virtual game.

Homebrew rules

Paladins use Lay on Hands as a Bonus Action. Life Clerics may use levelled spells as both an action and bonus action. I.e. Can use Cure Wounds [ Action ] and Minor Wounds [ Bonus Action ] in the same turn) Preserve Life for Life Clerics was moved to a Bonus Action.

How Robotic creates a safe table

Before we play the game, I will sit down with each player individually first so they can become acquainted and comfortable with me. It's just a series of questions some of them related to your character, and things you don't want to occur in the games. As well as discussing your needs, wants and important information I should know about before continuing. I've called this 'vibe checking' , I've often rejected players because I knew that the group wouldn't fit with you. So you can except that when you join my game, I know the people are good people. If you have any problems or concerns with any player at all (related or relationship or not) I will take care of it. I want my players to feel as if they can talk to me about anything, even if it's not game related. You maybe paying for my games, but I still care for each of my players. After we're done talking and I find that you would be a good fit; give me sometime to prepare your character's backstory and then we'll move onto session 0! Where we talk about basic things such as what to expect, what other players want, and you can talk about your triggers amongst the rest of the group if you have any. Remember! We're here to have fun, not be a buzz kill! That said, I will tell you a few things about myself during these individual sit downs and you're welcome to ask me anything you want even if it isn't game related. I hope to have future games with you. :)
