About the adventure
The Candlekeep Mysteries are 17 short adventures that allow your adventuring party to play detective and solve unsolved crimes, right past wrongs, and prevent fiendish plots! Which mystery will you get? Who knows?! (Although, I will take requests if you have a specific one in mind :D) Candlekeep attracts scholars like a flame attracts moths. Historians, sages, and others who crave knowledge flock to this library fortress to peruse its vast collection of books, scribbled into which are the answers to the mysteries that bedevil them. Many of these books contain their own mysteries—each one a doorway to adventure. Dare you cross that threshold?

How to prepare
1. A mic and Discord account will be needed to join the server in which we will be running the game. I will have my webcam on, but you are not required to have yours on. Roleplaying is encouraged, but not expected. Play how you want and have fun. Dice rolls can be made however you feel comfortable (Dndbeyond, Discord, Google, physical dice). If you don't care about what character you play, I can have characters available for you to play. 2. We will also be using Owlbear Rodeo as a Virtual Tabletop, so being able to open it up in a browser will be needed. If you are playing on a mobile device, or can not easily access the browser for some reason I will be streaming my screen via Discord. There is no account needed for Owlbear Rodeo. You just click the link I send you , and BOOM you see the map and can move around your token!
What I provide
Virtual character sheets, maps, and story related visuals.
Gameplay details
Each adventure in this anthology embraces one of the following narrative conceits: The characters discover a book in the library that contains a mystery. Getting to the bottom of this mystery requires embarking on an adventure. Content Warning: Everyone has different thresholds with what they feel comfortable with. The mysteries have varying degrees of violence, and by discussing with the table I make sure to use levels of detail that everyone feels comfortable with. Players are always free to let me know if adjustments need to be made. The characters come to Candlekeep on a quest for information, perhaps to solve a crisis elsewhere in the world. During their research, they uncover a book and the mystery it contains, which leads to adventure. These short adventures work best with players who like mysteries and discovering their secrets. That said, each adventure contains opportunities for exploration, roleplaying, and combat, to appeal to players of all persuasions. A mystery will be randomly determined, and players will be told what level character to make to bring on the adventure. If enough participants request a certain level or adventure, we can make that happen.

How will character creation work
Character creation will happen before the session, and level will be determined by the adventure selected. These are one-shots, so go as basic or in-depth with your character. Want to test out a build? Try it here! Players will be given a campaign link to Dndbeyond where I have all available sourcebook materials available for expanded character options.
