About the adventure

Neon lights shine in windows as you walk down a lonely street downtown, the hairs on the back of your neck rise as you sense the danger behind you. Armed with your trusty pocket watch, you push the button activating the stopwatch. Time around you slows down giving you time to see the vampire moving towards you. Even with your ability to slow down time the vampire is moving fast, but not fast enough. You take out the magnifying glass you keep in your trench coat pocket and hold it high. A twist to the right, a twist to the left and it begins to glow. Even during the darkest time of the night, the stored solar energy spilling forth from the lens is more than enough to stop the vampire in it's tracks and send it running in the other direction. You keep the beam of solar energy on the vampire until it disappears from sight. Reality is flexible, mutable, but not by much. With your awakening you can bend reality to your will. What will you do with this power? How will you change the world...? How will it change you...?

About me

Partially covered by the dust of time, you find the blanched bones of a human adventurer long dead. Every inch of bone is covered with tiny bite marks or burrowed holes. Some of the bones have been broken by the crushing teeth of a much larger creature. The slightest touch on a pouch at his side causes it to disintegrate into dust and string, revealing its contents. Coin… You smile at the sound of it hitting the ground. A backpack in similar condition reveals a map case with a map inside. You hold the case gently trying not to disturb the contents too much. The thought of a long forgotten treasure waiting to be discovered comes to mind as you secure it carefully to your pack. Your torchlight gleams off of metal on his skeletal finger. A gold ring with an inlaid garnet shines brightly. Rewards such as this are the result of adventures that normal people fear to take on. Risking life and limb to plumb the depths of mystery. Fighting creatures that are the stuff of nightmare and legend. This year will make 45 years since I began roleplaying in college. You know what? I still can't get enough! I love the games and I love introducing them to new players. I love the stories and memories that are created when I play with a good group. My games are thoughtful, intense, exciting and unbiased. I work hard to make sure everyone has an opportunity to shine. In my time as a DM, I’ve run one on one games as well as games for large groups. Campaigns and one shots. Whether you are learning or experienced, I can run a game that will be full of adventure and excitement. Choose me and join one of the awesome games I am already running or request a time for your own one shot or campaign. There will be fun for all!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will create characters for the game. Considering its Mage... this could take a minute. Players will have the option of creating characters from the core rulebook. M20.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You should have a mic and webcam, I will go over the characters and rules needed to play the game. I will also send you the link to the Virtual Tabletop. You just need to bring your creativity and your sense for adventure.

What James M brings to the table

We will be playing on a Virtual Tabletop (VTT) Roll20. I will have all the tools needed to play.

Safety

How James M creates a safe table

My games are pretty PG, good for all ages. The important thing, is to have fun. We will use pre-generated characters(unless all players agree to create characters). You can expect a good bit of roleplaying (mostly to establish characters) minimal puzzles and some good action. Sometimes the best solution is to not engage in combat, so this will give everyone an opportunity to shine and be the hero. I am also very open to the concerns of players. I have been a manager for 20 years, so if someone has a problem, let me know and I will do my best to resolve it. I use the XNO safety tools and am willing to include other safety tools if needed.
