About the adventure

Strap in, and get ready for a hard burn. Here comes the juice! Play out this sandbox adventure as a crew of your own interplanetary spaceship in the Expanse setting, based off of the Novels and TV show of the same name by James S.A. Corey! The adventure starts somewhere between the books 'Leviathan Wakes' and 'Caliban's War'(or season 1 and 2 of the show), the UN and Mars are at the brink of war all while Eros has been rumored to have thrown itself sunward and the Mormons cry foul of Tycho Corp for stealing their interstellar generation ship before its completion. Are the rumors true? Did mars destroy the Canterbury? Is Earth conducting a secret war? And if so who could benefit from a system wide war?

About me

Hey everyone! My name is Andrew and I've been a GM for 8 years now, and a TTRPG player for 9 years. I love helping players tell a collaborative story and have the most fun they can! Most of my experience comes from hosting games for friends and co-workers over the years, but my dedication to the role comes from my love of an exciting and meaningful tabletop adventure! Reasons why you should give my games a try: 1. I'm great at improvising solutions for odd requests at the table, or for something that doesn't quite fit the rules 2. I'm a member of the LGBTQ+ Community and will not tolerate any hate speech or abusive behavior that is racially or queer motivated(intended or not) All respectful people are welcome regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or race. 3. I have a ton of experience helping new players get comfortable with 5th edition D&D! 4. More than happy to help build and level up characters and have helpful discussions to find ways to maximize everyone's enjoyment at the table! 5. I prefer running games with a healthy mix of on the rails type tasks with a massive sandbox world with consequences for player action/inaction. You as players are in this world and you are affecting it with every choice! 6. I love TTRPGs, and I love to make sure people are having as much fun as I am when playing! If you have any questions don't be shy! Contact me and ask away!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will take place during a free session zero as a group in Roll20 and on the assigned Discord server. Other arrangements are negotiable but I personally think it's best to create the characters as a group.

The current party

New players welcome! Free Session Zero, I'll guide you through the character creation process! The Expanse RPG is great for players that want to stay for a limited run or jump in at any point! This sandbox campaign will be every Saturday unless another arrangement is reached within the group!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a working microphone as well as a discord and Roll20 account. Character sheets and all other necessary tools will be provided digitally.

Safety

How Andrew (CHorseCHell) creates a safe table

Gameplay is varied. With as much weight put on social encounters as combat. Quick decisions and tactical choices not just in combat situations, but also in social and investigative encounters are encouraged and sometimes necessary. The setting is vibrant and bleak all at once, with a full range of cultures and economic backgrounds.
