About the adventure

Vhalstaug: The Rise of the Worm That Walks An ancient evil, imprisoned by a long-forgotten civilization, stirs once more. For centuries, the mystical Kingdom of Vhalstaug has stood as a beacon of civilization, its enchanted forests, towering mountains, forgotten ruins, and ancient magic protecting its people from the darkness beyond. Hidden beneath its lands lie the remnants of a civilization that sacrificed everything to imprison an unspeakable eldritch horror known only as the Worm That Walks. Now those ancient seals are failing. Villages vanish without explanation. Travelers disappear along once-safe roads. Strange symbols appear in forgotten shrines, while whispers of impossible creatures spread across the kingdom. Noble houses accuse one another of treachery as fear and suspicion grip the realm. Hidden in the shadows, an ancient cult patiently carries out its master plan. Its agents move among merchants, priests, soldiers, and nobles. No one knows who can be trusted. Every ally may hide a terrible secret, and every victory uncovers an even greater conspiracy. As darkness spreads, a band of adventurers races to uncover the truth before the cult can complete the ritual that will free the Worm That Walks. The current party is Level 10, and new players will create Level 10 characters, allowing you to jump directly into an epic adventure filled with powerful magic, dangerous enemies, and world-changing decisions. Will you forge alliances with powerful factions, recover forgotten relics, and uncover the secrets of an ancient civilization? Or will you arrive too late to stop an apocalypse? This long-term campaign takes place in a living homebrew world that has been continuously developed since 1994. Every city, faction, dungeon, religion, and historical event has been crafted to create a world that evolves alongside its heroes. Your victories shape the future, your failures have lasting consequences, and your character's story becomes part of Vhalstaug's history. Every player receives a personalized character arc woven directly into the campaign. Your backstory, goals, rivals, and ambitions become meaningful parts of the adventure, ensuring your character is more than just another member of the party. Led by a professional Dungeon Master with over 35 years of experience, this campaign blends immersive roleplay, tactical combat, political intrigue, exploration, mystery, and cosmic horror into an unforgettable experience. Whether you're an experienced adventurer or newer to D&D, you'll find a welcoming table where teamwork, creativity, and meaningful choices are always rewarded. The cult is gathering. Ancient powers are awakening. The fate of Vhalstaug rests in your hands. What legend will your hero leave behind?

Character creation

Creating your character

I prefer to run a session zero. It is there that characters will be created. If you have one already that character will be reviewed then. We will also discuss what player and DM expectations are. Plus go over any player questions prior to starting.

The current party

Looking for a fun experience? New to D&D? Want a reliable weekly adventure? Then look no further!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Roll20 for now is my default. We can discuss other platforms during session zero. Also Webcam and mic needed. Bring your own dice or use the die roller in Roll20. When using your own dice we rely on the honor system. Please don't fudge rolls lol.

What JeremyDMing brings to the table

I will provide the game materials like maps and tokens etc. During session zero we'll figure out how characters look so I can make player tokens.

Homebrew rules

I use a modified critical roll rule where one of the damage die is maxed out I use a flanking rule that gives players advantage in combat
