About the adventure
The infamous thief and gadgeteer, L’Arsène Upin, and his oft-pursued friend, Harried Houdinky, have set their sights on a most guarded treasure; the chromanova. However, with Houdinky misplaced while casing the joint, and L’Arsène’s last ‘subcontractors’ missing in action, he now turns to you. Using Houdinky’s magically graffitied audio messages, you and your crew must navigate the traps and trials of Dr. Francis N. Stein’s abandoned wizard’s tower. Will you satiate the servants? Will you surpass the puzzles? And, most importantly, will you emerge from the biomancer’s abode unchanged, without having succumbed to one of Dr. Frank Stein’s biological experiments?
Meet the Game Master
About me
Back in the 2000s, or the long long ago as I now call it, a friend of mine introduced me to Dungeons and Dragons 3.5. Ever since then I've been addicted to the game and watched it grow from a relatively niche hobby into the dynamic and expansive game it is today. I want to offer you the opportunity to experience the extraordinary, the adventure, the peril, the odyssey of your own fantasy. Band together with your friends and come make memories that you'll hold in your heart for years to come. Or perhaps step into my arena and slay friends and strangers alike to test your talents as a character builder! Whether you're a cooperative adventurer or a number-minded powergamer, I have a game just for you. So come along and pick a path of your own, step into the shoes of your own legend, and I'll be your guide to the fantastical worlds of Dungeons and Dragons!

Creating your character
I'll give you a link to a DnD Beyond campaign page, where you can build your character. We'll use point buy for stats and take the fixed value HP so we can jump right into the game without a lot of extra oversight. You may have 3000 gold to equip your character with, as well as one uncommon magical item of any kind.
Check your Player Dashboard for all the links you'll need for the game! Rules for character creation Your character level is 5. All character creation content will be available to you; if you see something missing, let me know and I'll change that. All races, classes, feats, spells and cross-classes are on the table. You have 2000 gold to equip yourself with common items. Don't buy magical items besides potions or scrolls. Potions are 50 for common, 200 for uncommon, 2000 for rare, unless otherwise stated in their item description, and you may buy any kind of potion you can afford. If there are items or equipment that don't have a listed cost or you're unsure about, ask me and I'll see about allowing/pricing them for you. Firearms are acceptable as well. If you need any help with anything at all, lemme know. Also, on the first page of character creation you can switch on Critical Role Content, Optional Class Features, and Customize your Origin if you so desire (these are the Tasha's customization options).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a mic, Foundry account, D&D beyond account, and Discord (downloading it isn't needed, but helps). All dice rolls will be digital; no at home rolls will be accepted. Also get the Beyond 20 add on for chrome if you don't have it already, since we're going to be using both DnD Beyond and Foundry. If you have any trouble with these systems or need help learning their basics, message me and let me know and I'll help you figure stuff out.
What Kevin brings to the table
I'm bringing every character creation option in DnD Beyond, a campaign link you will be able to make your character with online, and all the Roll 20 virtual maps and monsters we'll be using for the games.

How Kevin creates a safe table
Players should expect a medium balance of combat, puzzles, and roleplay. This game is designed to be a fun, simple, and entertaining oneshot players can just jump into and enjoy. I'll be using the Open Door safety tools for this game. If at any point you're uncomfortable and need a break, feel free to take one, no warning necessary. I'll also try to take a break midway through the game to ensure players don't get too worn out. Expect potentially graphic descriptions of combat violence, though it should never cross the line into truly disgusting territory.
