About the adventure
Hello future Adventurers, Trailblazers, Heroes, and Assholes! I'm the DM Double I'd I love to interest you in my homebrewed world of Xari. Many groups of adventures have made their lasting and legendary mark on this world over the last few years and I'm hoping that you too will leave your legacy as well. I run a high magic/high technology type of game where the world is rich with powerful allies and enemies alike. I tend to run heavy RP that allows my players to truly breathe life into the world around them. My players are also more likely to receive powerful boons and items throughout the game, however be warned that this doesn't always make combat easier for the party. This all being said, you will decide what type of game that you'd all like to run with me. Also if you so choose I would absolutely love to integrate your characters backstory into the world, and see your character grow from a fledgling idea to a fully developed individual that is completely their own person. As a heads up I am a LGBTQ+ friendly DM and will treat all my players equally and fairly (I will absolutely not tolerate any bigotry, racisms, or misogyny of any kind). I currently run three other games, one online that has been going on for a year, another is a podcast that will be recording its 30th episode soon, and lastly an in person group with a group of former roommates that is an absolute blast.

Creating your character
I am open to my players using whatever means they have available to them for character creation! I understand that some people don't have access to everything and that's totally ok! However using apps like D&D Beyond do make my life easier would be preferable. WE ARE STARTING AT LEVEL 3, all my campaigns start at this level as I want my players to be a few steps removed from commoners. Please be ready for character creation session 0/1.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
As this is a virtual game I will require all my players to have mics as this will not be a play by post. I will leave it up to you as to whether you want to use a webcam, however it is preferred. Please be ready with some knowledge of character creation and a general idea of your characters going into session 0/1 as I'd like to create characters together. Only software that is absolutely necessary for one of my games is Discord as that is how we will communicate with each other there and I will post game/story information to the custom server of the campaign.
What Double brings to the table
As I get further along into the virtual world of DMing the more access I will have to purchasing various sources for everyone. I will provide both battlemaps and world maps to all my players upon request as I'm constantly tinkering with Inkarnate map maker. I currently have all the physical copies of the 5th edition books and will soon be purchasing all of them on D&D Beyond. I currently have the D&D Beyond Master Tier and with more content that I unlock to more I will be able to share with all my players. One thing I'd like to do with my players is set aside the money earned each session and eventually commission an illustration of the whole party as well as a few favorite NPCs. I currently also have FoundryVTT however am running into issues with allowing others to access it (Having a problem with my ISP), so once that is settled I'd like to integrate it into the sessions.

How Double creates a safe table
I run rules heavy games, that being said I'm not against "Rule of Cool" if its reasonable and not impossible. Combat will be difficult sometimes and I will push your characters to their limits, be wary of your resources, allies abilities and understand that this is a living world that will absolutely bite back. This all being said, I am not your enemy and want you all to succeed and am more than willing to help you all.
