From the Mournlands with Love: An Eberron Story
About the adventure
On the 20th of Olarune, 994 YK, an unknown magical holocaust wiped out the nation of Cyre. There are conflicting theories about the initial start point and spread of the Mourning, but by day's end most of Cyre was covered in a gray miasma and most of the inhabitants within its borders were dead or horrifically transformed. The Mourning did not seem to have an impact on undead and constructs, besides creating new undead, and most warforged also seemed to be unaffected by the mists. The lands inside the Mournland were also transformed; entire cities shifted locations and terrain was raised or lowered, or transformed into glass or other materials. The Wayfinders guild has offered up a substantial reward to anyone willing to explore, document, and act as cartographer over the blasted landscape. This effort is in part attempt to find safe passage through miasma of the Mournlands and return any other findings that would then aid future recovery and restoration missions.

Meet the Game Master
About me
For twelve summers I have slung spell and sword while travelling to far off forgotten realms, visiting planes of magic and chaos. I have seen what the multiverse has to offer those who dare seek it. Join me and together we will find glory and adventure where ever we may roam. Hello all. I am Prof. Slinger I have been a forever DM for about ten years and player of Dungeons and Dragons since 3rd Edition. My favorite settings are Eberron and Ravenloft. Gothic horror and noir story telling are my absolute favorites but I do dabble in just about everything.

Players say this GM is great at:
Storytelling
Creativity
Visual Aid
Definitely a very good GM for starting players. We had 0 prior knowledge of the rules whatsoever, yet he patiently took us through character creation process and all the mechanics, whenever they came up during the game. Regarding the game itself, it's hard to say, as it was our first experience, but we definitely had a good time. All the encounters were very interactive and after each game session, Prof. Slinger would gather our feedback about the game and its direction.
I like a role play heavy game, there are many opportunities to not be murder hobos. I enjoy the variety of challenges we are faced with. He is also good at planting story seeds that will grow later in the campaign. Overall, a fun experience and I look forward to the next one each time we play.
Character creation
Creating your character
Players can have a fifth level character a loose background story, and nerves of steel. I will be handing out magic items to each player at the start of the game. Please use either the point buy or standard array for your ability scores.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have a ready D&D Beyond account and Astral VTT account with a fifth level character ready to play. I will be providing links to both Astral and D&D Beyon Campaing invitations
