About the adventure
Fabula Ultima: A Shattered Peace is a campaign focused on a world on the brink of war. Conflicts between nations are growing at an alarming rate, and the current brokered peace between the world feels one wrong move away from breaking at any moment. You will play as adventurers in this unstable world, trying to figure out just what needs to be done to save the peace - and perhaps the world itself - from collapse. Will you choose to fight against corrupt establishments to bring about a new peace, or discover the mysteries of the world and lead it to a brighter future using your discoveries? ----- A Shattered Peace will take inspiration from numerous JRPGs, but core to the inspiration for this campaign is Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Fabula Ultima has a focus on heroics, so on some level the PCs will have to like helping others. Counter to the heroes are villains, who will always be working against the heroes, and will almost always be reoccurring threats that the party has to keep in the back of their mind. My games focus on roleplay as the core of the experience, so if you are passionate about immersing yourself in your character and being an active participant, you are more than welcome at my table! I also wish to focus on the exploration aspect of this system, as well as creating tales of good versus evil in the style of traditional JRPGs. I have over 8 years of experience GMing, and have ran Fabula Ultima multiple times in that span, as well as played in a number of long running campaigns, so I'm well versed in the system and RPGs as a whole. Hiya! I'm Laina, and I have over 7 years, 5 of which I've spent as almost a full-time GM. I have experience with a wide variety of games, from mainstream games like DnD and Pathfinder, to more niche PbtA games, and am quick to learn systems as well! I am a big fan of player choice and letting my players do whatever wild ideas they come up with, and I treat all of my players as equals at the table. I love world building, and working to create interesting and unique worlds with my players! I also have experience running games for audiences, as I have a TTRPG podcast, and have run multiple charity streams for that podcast. Creating your character
Characters will start at level 5, which is the default starting level for characters in Fabula Ultima. They will be created using an interactable PDF, and will be made during a session zero, so that everyone can get a feel for each other and their characters, and are free to ask questions during play to help better understand the game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players need a decent quality mic, and a Discord account. I strongly encourage players to read at least some of the rules before our first session, but strong familiarity with the rules is not at all required. Characters will be created as a group session 0, dice will be handled using roll20, and character sheets will be made using a provided PDF.
What Laina brings to the table
I will create art for the player characters, a world map, and individual town maps. Most villains will also have personalized art drawn of them, as well as any major allies. I will handle all of the game set-up on my end, so all players need to do is show up.
