About the adventure
This game takes place in a quiet corner of the planes, open to any… so long as they have their Library cards. The players will be exploring The Library Between, a library that rests in the space between the worlds and is vast enough to be a world itself. Something is going wrong in the Library, you have found your way in without a library card, and a mist gathers at the edges of the rooms, eating away at the library’s edges. Can you figure out what the mist is? Can you save the library? Can you save yourselves? The Library Between will explore themes of loss, learning and exploration, and the strange and new of a space outside the “norm.” Roleplay is a key element to fully experiencing this story (but don’t worry, you won’t be short of fights either!)

Creating your character
Character creation will begin during session 0, and then will be continued independently/with our help between session 0 and the first session of play. We will work with you to ensure your characters will fit in with the story and one another. We will host the characters on our D&D Beyond account for the length of the game, but if you’d like to keep it after the game you’ll need to download it as a pdf or own all the books & supplements used in creating your character. Characters will be made with standard array, will need to consider roleplay elements as well as mechanics, and may have other rules of creation assigned/determined during session 0. The characters for this game will be starting at 3rd level! You’re welcome to come to session 0 with an idea in mind or decide after we talk more about the game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a mic, and a webcam is suggested. We will be using D&D beyond and Roll20, so they’ll want accounts (free or better) on both of those platforms.) Note-taking supplies can be helpful for some players, and anybody who wants the clicky clacky math rocks are welcome to bring them! (D&D Beyond and Roll20 both have digital rolling mechanics if preferred). You’re welcome to read the rulebooks if you’d like, but please remember that we will override the book in order to make a better story (we’ll talk more about this in session 0!). If you look at the book and think ‘who has time to read all that!?’ we have plenty of experience in relaying what you actually need to know without you needing to read anything. We’re happy to play with all levels of experience!
What Games Unbound brings to the table
We are highly experienced DMs with 10+ years of running professionally! We’ll bring maps, puzzles, dynamic encounters, and a rich world to play in. We also will provide a pro D&D beyond account for the duration of the game. Please note that if you want to keep your character after that, you’ll need to download it as a pdf or own all the books & supplements used in creating your character. The Library Between will include hand-made maps of the library locations, handouts & images designed to supplement play, and similar visuals! You are welcome to keep digital copies of any of the visuals I provide.
