About the adventure

Have you and your friends been itching to play some D&D lately, but nobody wants to go to all the trouble of being the dungeon master? Lucky for you, I love going to the trouble. I’m looking to start a new weekly or monthly game with a group of friends, 3-6 in size. If you really want to treat yourself to a good time, look no further. The list price for this game is higher than the average, but that’s for a good reason. D&D is not a hobby for me, it’s a way of life. Here’s why this campaign is far above what you’d expect from your average paid D&D game: >I bring a staggering amount of experience to the table. I have over 5000 hours of experience in Roll20, 1,000 hours in Foundry, and I’ve been a dungeon master for 20 years (I was even president of the D&D club in my high school). >I practice proactive and flexible scheduling to make sure games ALWAYS happen, even when all of my players are busy adults. >I source high-quality maps and tokens for every encounter and adventure, making it a visually appealing experience. >I'm always available to help with explaining the game or helping you with your character sheet. >I always feature an epic soundtrack that I mix live, drawing from video game and movie soundtracks to create atmosphere. >I run tightly designed adventures that are fast-paced and dynamic, and always encourage creative solutions. >I create a welcoming, supportive atmosphere of curiosity and adventure. (View screenshots and video clips of live play at https://vincentmarocco.com/ ) As for the themes and setting of the campaign, we can either have the game take place in my homebrew fantasy world (complete with maps and history), Faerun, Eberron, Greyhawk, or any other common D&D setting. The genre is also of your choosing, whether you want classic high fantasy, Lovecraftian horror, high-seas swashbuckling, bizarre weird-fantasy, or something else. I will design a custom campaign that weaves your characters’ backstories into the tapestry of the world. It will be a totally original creation made just for you and your friends. So if you’re interested and have a group of friends who would like to join you, send me a message and we can begin your quest!

About me

(Personal site at http://www.vincentmarocco.com) Dungeons and Dragons has been a lifelong hobby for me. I discovered the game when I was a child, and ran my first campaign when I was in middle school. I haven’t stopped playing since. In the 22 years that passed since I started, I’ve run thousands of games as a Dungeon Master. In high school I founded my school’s D&D club, and I started learning to draw so that I could portray the visions that came to me for my games. Later on, I fell in love with virtual tabletops, racking up over 5000 hours in Roll20 and over 1,500 hours in Foundry. And for the last two years, I’ve turned my hobby into a side hustle, becoming a pro dungeon master. I’ve carved out a place for myself as a small batch dungeon master. Instead of running ten games a week and priding myself on quantity, I run a handful of games and go for quality. Many dungeon masters like running published modules, but I always prefer running original material. For me being a dungeon master encompasses not only running the game, but designing it as well. My aim is to immerse the player in a Dungeons and Dragons experience that transcends the ordinary. Though I’ve spent a lifetime playing RPGs, D&D remains my favorite ttrpg and the one I know best. I also structure my games to accommodate the shifting schedules of adult life. I design my games around the attendance I’ve got, and you won’t be committing to anything you need to feel guilty about missing. I practice an open door policy. I’m happy to accommodate both the new and the experienced player, too. I tailor my games for the group I’ve got, and I love having fresh perspectives in the mix. I gladly walk new players through how to use the interface or understand the rules. I strive to be flexible, lenient, and fair. You can see that quite a few of the reviews on my profile are from clients who have played a lot of games with me. That is because I love to make them smile. I focus on providing the best experience for them. I tailor the scenarios to their whims. I get to know them, and encourage them to be themselves. I am always working to figure out to shock, thrill, intrigue, delight, perplex, and captivate them. If you’re looking for the classic dungeon crawling, monster slaying D&D experience, that’s what I’ve devoted myself to perfecting.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will figure this out in our initial discussion.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I use virtual tabletop software to make D&D more visually engaging and accessible. Also, if you’re totally new to D&D altogether, I would be happy to bring you up to speed on the rules. I’m used to walking new folks through playing, so you will be able to participate and have fun even if you’ve never played before.

What Vincent Marocco brings to the table

I will bring a large selection of books on Roll20, an immense library of maps, and a lot of music as well.

Safety

How Vincent Marocco creates a safe table

In terms of safety tools, I tend to go the Lines and Veils route. Meaning, I get a sense from my players what themes are completely unacceptable to them (like slavery), and what themes are just too uncomfortable to describe in detail (like a giant tarantula). But normally I try and keep things pretty tame and lighthearted, and the violence in my games isn’t graphic or realistic. I don’t want anyone to feel bummed out because of my games, it’s supposed to be fun. I don’t go for cheap shocks or pointless edginess.
