About the adventure

Dragon Heist is a premade adventure released by Wizards of the Coast for the 5e setting. It takes place in the Forgotten Realms, in one of the largest cities known as Waterdeep. You and your party are meeting with Volothamp, of Volo's Guide to Monsters fame, to discuss a job opportunity. This adventure is suited well for new players, but also is still engaging for experienced players. Even if you've played this particular adventure before, it still can go countless different ways.

About me

Hello adventurers! If you are seeking to etch your hero's name into legend, look no further. I'm an experienced story teller with a passion for helping people bring their ideas to life. I have practice in running pre-made adventures, home brew stories, and several game worlds I've spent years developing. I can accommodate any play style from heavy rp, to wargaming, and even murder hobos. Let's build a story you'll never forget.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will start the campaign with a session zero. Everyone will want to work together to create a party of at least somewhat cohesive level 1 characters. It is recommended that the party has established a relationship of at the very least being able to adventure together before the campaign begins. Any additional backstory work that isn't covered during session zero will be up to you to think of outside of the session and communicate with me at your own pace.

The current party

A party of adventurers is seeking proven heroes to join them in their delve into the Undermountain. The party currently sits at level 9. Come join their hunt for wealth, knowledge, and vengeance!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I highly recommend being at least somewhat familiar with how Dungeons & Dragons works on a very basic level, but I am always happy to teach people who are starting from scratch. If this is the case, I would recommend that we set up a separate session before session zero to go over the rules and how the game works. You will also need to have access to a microphone and internet. Printed out character sheets, pencils and dice are all highly recommended, but not required as digital options are available. You might also want to make an account on roll20.net

What Heartlock brings to the table

As this is a digital campaign, anything that I need to give you will be given digitally. Any maps, important visuals, character or monster images, etc will be sent either through roll20 or whatever means we use for communication.

Safety

How Heartlock creates a safe table

This game features violence, mild gore, and several potentially uncomfortable topics such as political intrigue, loss of life, death in the family, and criminal activity. If these or any other topics are difficult for you, I am happy to work with you to make a more fitting experience. I like to think I am a very accommodating DM. Please, if you have any concerns of content or any problems whatsoever, I want you to feel free to come to me directly about it.
