We just had our first session with Stephanie, and we presented quite the challenge. I am a forever DM/GM/ST who finally got fed up with not being able to play with my friends, which didn't help the already strained ability of our group to stay focused. On top of that, we had never played the game we asked her to run. Of course we chose Thirsty Sword Lesbians, which is relevant because one of our players is a straight person in a complicated queer relationship. Stephanie handled all of that, and more, with skill and grace. We finished up session zero as part of our first game session, and Stephanie made it feel like a natural part of the session rather than the bookkeeping that S0 usually feels like. Then we flowed right into the story. The opener to the story was rather compelling. It touched on some hard topics for me while keeping it accessible and interesting- exciting even. My last thought on the game itself (for now): don't be afraid to have ideas. Stephanie took ideas my group dreamed up during idle chatter and turned them into an interesting setting and an intriguing plot hook. Also worth noting is that she is incredibly inclusive without question. As a trans person who usually masks, not once did I feel disrespected or unsafe. And since only one person in our group is not queer, it's worth mentioning that they said they felt comfortable and perfectly included. Stephanie made sure none of that really mattered, other than being comfortable as who we are. If you are a forever DM looking for a break, Stephanie is definitely a talented game runner to consider.
Like many of us, I have been the forever ST/GM/DM for longer than I want to admit. I rarely get to play, and I almost never get to play with my wife. Last night, Morgana provided an opportunity to play with my wife AND our son, and we all had fun. The players in a group say a lot about the person running it. Not just in who they allow to stay, but who they attract in the first place. Morgana seems to have attracted some nice, friendly, inclusive players. If community is as important to you as the person's skill in GMing, Morgana will give you quality in both.
