I am very much new to dnd this year. He is familiar with the rules and very open and great at explaining them. I am learning what questions to ask during sessions and he is good about dropping hints. He is great at describing scenes and giving the NPC their own personality. He also doesnt limit your imagination. As long as it is not to far fetched from the rules, he will let the dice decide.
