Merp does an outstanding job with his descriptions of scenery and events. He has his camera on, and stands through the session, lending a physicality to his descriptions as he gestures and moves which adds a surprising amount. He also does a really good job at teeing up players with leading questions so less experienced RPers have something to hook onto for the replies, which adds to the creativity of the collective storytelling. Finally, the game I joined with a couple other folks almost instantly filled up as players of his other campaign saw he had a new one and flocked to it. That said a lot, and their faith in him was borne out when we had our first session.

I had a great time in a one-shot Jacob ran. It was a homebrew of his, which kicked off quickly, and had good pacing and fun encounters throughout. In particular, there was a battle at sea which made great use of the environment and verticality and NPCs we had to protect which all came together to create a very fun, dynamic battle.
