If you're interested in TTRPGs for its collaborative storytelling and expressing characters through the game's systems, I'd encourage you to try one of Derrick's groups. From the intro chat and session zero (and some messages on Discord in between), Derrick incorporated each players’ ideas into the game’s world. The first battle was challenging, involving some fun encounter mechanics of Fabula Ultima, and exposed some the characters’ backstories. They made sure each player got to showcase their character, interact with everyone else’s, and describe aspects of the world, too. Derrick also made sure everyone’s getting familiar with the VTT setup. When I picked a poorer option just so I don’t hold everyone up, Derrick noticed and took the time to show me what I couldn’t find. I've also noticed that both new and returning players feel comfortable and at ease at the sessions. Definitely join a campaign or one-shot if you can!

I've just had my first TTRPG session ever with Kat, and I'm glad it was with her! The world building, the NPCs, and setting are thematic, vivid, and intriguing. Designing and brainstorming my character was such a fun, collaborative experience. There was an unexpected event near the end of the session and it was tense because it felt like the combat could go either way. I can't wait to play more to see what happens. If you're a new player, I'd super recommend joining Kat's table!
