About me
Learned D&D in 1979; began GMing in 1983; began LARPing in 1989; began writing and running LARPs in 2003. I prefer highly narrative role-play with detailed character motivations. I like learning and exploring new TTRPG systems and mechanics.

I think Red is a talented Game Master whose table is very welcoming and friendly, but he has a couple of quirks that make his GMing style a less-than-perfect match for my playing style. First is his choice of game systems. I love the deep lore in the World of Darkness, but the game mechanics that come with that lore is extremely crunchy and has a tendency to slow down otherwise quick and tense scenes to a crawl. There are ways to speed up combat and other action scenes, but Red chooses almost always to stick closely to the Rules as Written. Second, in a game that is not about player vs player conflicts, Red frequently allows and even encourages splitting the party such that half (or more) of the players are merely waiting and listening while the others get their turn "on stage". While this allows individual PCs to get time in the spotlight, it also greatly slows down plot & narrative a great deal. I think that for the right player, Red is a fantastic GM, but I am not that player.
