I am playing a Dragonlance campaign as a war Cleric of Kiri-Jolith. My previous experience with D&D were as One shots in University over a WG table and Baldurs Gate 3. He is good at explaining the new 2024 ruleset and patient if I don't remember where I can do custom rolls, since I use them so little. Furthermore he is willing to go the extra mile for a cool combat encounter if we come up with a good plan of engagement and actually roll for a small army of enemies. Travelling, that is a contentious isse afaik. I don't know how he does it, but encounters don't feel random most of the time and make some sort of sense for the area. We can travel a set amount of overland and the cliffs and other terrain features on the map are factored in in how we much we can travel that day. I like this system, but realize it is not everyones cup of tea. Considering this is my first experience with paid D&D over Discord. I am happy.
