I've played in countless (IRL) games run by CTP over the past couple of decades, and I look forward to every session. I remember to this day the deep, gravelly voice of a blue dragon swooping out of the skies of Sharn nearly twenty years ago demanding of us "Get on!" and realizing that CTP had made our characters the center of what mattered in Eberron even before we'd found our characters' voices and habits. I can still picture the swift motion of CTP showing us how the drow cultists kicked over the tavern tables for cover and leveled crossbows at those of us who had not succumbed to their foul poisons. I hold in my heart the peaceful rightness of Grignak's complete unmaking by an elder brain in the final battle for all of reality -- it was truly his time, and there was no coming back. I shouldn't have been surprised by the FBI sting operation to catch my nosferatu for the serial killings he had committed (...before becoming a vampire), and yet I walked right into that trap because my pride demanded it -- and what a fall ensued. CTP will let the villain win, if that's what the dice (and your hubris) demand, but win or lose, the PCs own the spotlight. It's their story, one way or another. CTP is a GM for the ages. At our first session after the passing of Gary Gygax, CTP rolled for 1d20 seconds of silence. Fate decreed it should be a natural 20, of course. And so we honored the moment...before plotting the downfall of the great Giant King Gygax, pulling together every spell and novel trick available to us.
