Aspen was a great storyteller, and allowed for both the in game characters and player characters to explore and interact in very realistic and believable ways that made the characters feel more real for everyone. They allow a space where it felt easy to play as a newcomer to table top RPGs and simplified the rules enough for me to feel comfortable trying to play the character more than understand all the rules. Our story sessions felt guided but still free for the characters to make their own decisions. I think my favorite part is the voices they give to characters when speaking that make them feel alive to me and the description of the world and what's happening around us and how it ties to story. Also emotional story beats were done well and felt impactful in our game. I must add that we got to play as cats in a magical world where they are hiding their intelligence and powers from humans, very fun premise for a tabletop game.
