I'll always be grateful to Laine for introducing me to Monsterhearts. She's run two excellent play-by-post games for me, and both have been standout experiences. What really sets Laine apart is her deep understanding of the genre and her talent for creating compelling, well-written NPCs that enhance and support the players' stories. She always knows exactly when to step back and let the players drive the narrative, and when to step in to keep the momentum going. Her sense for horror is especially strong. Laine consistently sets the mood with evocative descriptions and just the right tone, making scenes feel genuinely eerie and atmospheric. Any issues that have come up in her games have been resolved easily through a few quick DMs. She's approachable, open to feedback, and always willing to listen without judgment.

You can feel that he values the collaborative aspect of roleplaying games, and this dedication pays off with a dynamic and evolving world to explore, populate, and live in as a group. He is particularly skilled at telling a compelling and immersive story, with unique and often exciting scenes. He also understands what the PbtA system excels at, and relies on its strengths to deliver drama and patiently guide his players towards the best version of the creative roleplayers they can be.
