Koda is a walking, talking encyclopedia of D&D lore and rules- I have never met someone who so naturally absorbed everything they read like Koda does. Despite this, they never became a rules lawyer and they don't adhere to it so strictly that the mood of the game is ruined based on a technicality. They are a brilliant guide into the worlds they create and have infinite patience with their players. I've participated in over 2 long running (2 year+) campaigns with them, whose group consisted of seasoned players (like myself) and new players; Koda never rushed turns when a player was genuinely trying to understand the mechanics of the game, they never got annoyed with answering the same question for the 10th time, and they were always looking for ways they could create an accessible, inclusive table. They've utilized speech to text live transcription tools before for those of us who had difficulty processing speech, they've taken the time to create detailed maps and interactive elements to said maps, and they are quick to troubleshoot any tech issue. Gameplay wise, Koda does a great mix of roleplay based results and skill check based results. They decide what the overall mood of the session has been for that day and make their success/fail decisions based on whether or not the players have been excited for in depth roleplaying, or if we're wanting to be dice goblins and leaving our fates to the dice gods. They are all about giving their table the experience they want for the day, making them an extremely adaptable GM. On top of it all, Koda works with all players to bring their backstory into play during the campaign. They build their campaigns, even pre-built modules, around the characters. It's a very fun experience to write to Koda after a session with ideas and feedback on what my character just experienced and how it could tie into a character goal I have in mind. They always make something work. Overall, I'd highly recommend this GM.
