A little background. I have been DM/ST/GMing for over 35+ years on more Game Systems than I care to name, without ever being able to be just a player. Having to be the "World", every NPC, and everything in between, while taking hours to days to plan encounters, make maps and get the story to flow without taking away the players agency or railroading them is very time consuming and draining. Couple that with the fact that I never used any modules, and have only ever used environments, and some of the NPCs to flavor my own stories. So, with that in mind. Believe me when I tell you that stumbling across StartPlaying, and Bo as a DM in particular was just the breath of fresh air, break from being what I said above and rejuvenation that I needed. I actually entered the session with a little trepidation, but still optimistic. I left it actually joyous and laughing more than I have in a long time. It took us nearly an hour of just off the cuff Roleplaying before we even got to the beginning of the module that Bo is running. It was just that organic and engaging. My wife and I are playing in his Campaign and I can tell just from the first session, we are in it for the long hall. There are very few "happy" coincidences that someone might encounter in their lifetime, and this was indeed one of those. I can't recommend Bo enough. He understand the environments that he is running and how the players characters might interact in them, and then he adapts his Storytelling to complement the players actions and motivations. I had begun to think I was one of the only DM that actually did that with their players. Glad to see I was wrong, and I am happy I took a chance on Bo.
