I've played multiple games with Sean over the years. Most of the games we played together in, he was the DM. We have played D&D 5e, Pathfinder, Iron Kingdoms, and a version of 5e that adapted Pokémon to 5e rules. Every campaign I played in with him was excellent, many of which eventually reaching up into higher levels (a rarity in campaigns run by most other DM's). Each campaign was tailored to the players participating but, in general, consisted of equal parts of the three pillars of TTRPG's: Exploration, Roleplay, and Combat. The fights in his games incorporated terrain features, puzzles, and other unique obstacles. The worlds were varied including themes or archetypes inspired by The Witcher, Soviet era Russia, Monster Hunter, Ancient China, Zoids, and medieval Europe. I would highly recommend using Sean as you DM, especially if you enjoy creative freedom, mechanical contraptions/robots/mechs, masterful storytelling, large reptiles, well-constructed world-building, small reptiles, alchemy, Dinosaurs, or poison.
I played with Rivas before he joined StartPlaying. He is far and away one of the best and most experienced game masters I've ever played with. We played a campaign that last about 14 months and went all the way to 20th level. He put in a lot of effort to make it fun, engaging, and challenging without being too challenging (or too obnoxious). He is extremely knowledgeable about the rules for 5e and playing using Roll 20. He is flexible with the rules when necessary and tries to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. You cannot go wrong choosing him as your DM.
