Animancy is my first DM for me playing DnD for the first time! At first, DnD looks pretty intimidating on the surface, and you might feel embarrassed or hesitant to keep asking your DM "how does this work?". However, Animancy has consistently given guidance and answered my questions about the game. He is very accommodating and forgiving of most mistakes you might make as a beginner. He also allows you to kind of create your own story, venture off the path kind of, like perhaps the path you took was not intended, but his improv skills are more than enough to still give you a world shaped by your choices. Also, he uses VTT (Virtual Table Top) on Roll20. I had never used the program before but he does take some time to explain the basics you'll need to know to engage with the world. It is clear that time and effort is put into setting up stories, areas, and encounters. Music is something he will also make use of, setting the tone of a dark dungeon with creepy ambiance or a more uplifting tune for a drink at the tavern. If I had to give advice to anyone joining one of his games, don't be afraid to get really immersed, the more you get into it, the more he gets into it.
