I play with Ori in two of his campaigns. I originally joined to learn more about how to be a great DM - and man! I'll get to what it's like being a player, but I just want to say that Ori welcomes me to pick his brain about anything related to the way he does things - from NPC creation down to the way he views specific stats. He's also been incredibly encouraging in my DM-ing journey and I'm incredibly grateful that I get to learn from him! Now just as a player, Ori is not only hilarious, but he does have a heart out for his players too. I was struggling with my build and I wasn't happy with it - Ori allowed me to re-build my PC with the help of one of my fellow players. He talks about making my Beast, Joklar explode into confetti all the time, but it's all in a good heart and I will always be appreciative of that! Also, the way he lets up solve problems creatively is amazing. We had a situation where a train station of sorts was rigged with explosives, and the only one who had the credentials to turn off the detonators was dead... and the fingerprint scanner needed to detect a heartbeat. One of the players asked if he could take the hand and try to mimic life and do some crazy biomedical stuff, and Ori said go for it. Said player was successful. Ori is also great at giving everyone the spotlight and a chance to do their own thing. He's really great at jumping from situation to situation if the players are all split up, too! Other than that, Ori is very interpersonal and it's great getting to bully the DM - he takes it all in good stride. It's very obvious that he loves what he does, and that makes it all the better. Between sketchy alleyway food stalls that sell ceviche and Space Cheeto shenanigans, Ori is the best DM I could've ever stumbled across.
