Let me tell you about my friend, Robert. I came to DnD off of one failed campaign and, though confident in my ability to make up nonsense, I had no idea what I was doing. He was incredibly patient in explaining and then often re-explaining what I needed to do and when I needed to do it. He is instructive without being patronizing. He is kind while enforcing rules. He allows for the most insane and far-fetched situations with a sense of accommodation and whimsy that would make Josiah DnD himself (or whomever invented this game) weep with pride. He happily accepts both sound feedback and completely unsound, uncalled-for, in-game DM-bashing with grace. I believe I’ve played over 100 hours of this game with him leading the way at this point, and I don’t know that I would’ve trusted anyone else to teach me this much for this long. If you’re searching for a new campaign, or a new leader, or a new resource, or a new friend, look no further than this kind-hearted Texan, who, if nothing else, is forced to argue with me several times each week. He’s got insight and charisma to spare.
