Our game was a 3 hour one shot titled 'Mystry of the Whispering Woods'. (Spolier Free review) Dom did a really good job guiding the group through the one shot. All of us were new to DnD and especially playing online with a group, so Dom spent the time guiding us through using our tools before the session started. The discord he used was also really helpful, where Dom had set up useful guidance and rules for players to read before the session. Dom was patient throughout and allowed time for us to figure out the mechanics of the game, and encouraged player particiation/teamwork throughout, both in game and above board. I definately felt more confident with my own understanding of the mechanics of D&D after the end of the one shot. The one shot pacing was great, it didn't feel like it was being rushed and there was time to work through the fights/puzzle, so it never felt like we were on a time crunch, even though this was a 3 hr one shot. The world Dom created was immersive and inclusive (we had a quick intro for all players and did pronoun intros along with phobia lists before we started, and Dom was quick to make amendments if players felt uncomfortable (E.G. part of the one shot involved spiders, and Dom was quick to check in with players with arachnophobia and make amendments as required to ensure they felt comfortable and able to continue with the adverture) Overall, as this was my first introduction to a TTRPG oneshot, I couldn't have asked for a better one shot and DM, and I would reccommend joining a future one shot run by Dom for any brand new players who want to give DnD a go - you will find a curated experience which is inclusive, fun and exciting.
