I had never really played DnD before having Josh as my DM but now I am hooked. At first I was a bit awkward and found it difficult to really become my character but Josh really met me where I was at and didn't expect to much from me. Instead, through the characters in his world, he set an example of what good roleplaying looks like. He and more experienced party members also created an accepting environment where I felt more comfortable to get into it. This is an environment that Josh has purposely cultivated through his years of being an experienced DM. I'm very lucky to have him as my DM. The agency that Josh gives his players is the defining trait of his campaigns. He is constantly yes-and-ing his players during role play and letting his players tweak their characters to perfectly match their combat style. His characters fit into the game world well and he handles improv extremely well. He is also extremely organized and well prepared and we almost never come across holes in his prep.
