I've played in virtually-run TTRPGs with Richard before, so I was *thrilled* when I learned that he was running games here on StartPlaying! He's very highly experienced, and I think he's so attentive to his players because he wants the world and their motivations and backstories to feel real. I love the way that he invites you into the setting, the way that he prompts you to make characters that you'll fall in love with, and how he adds breadcrumbs throughout a campaign that allow a diverse party to find intersections between their individual stories and motivations. Whether you're a veteran player or new to party-based role-play, Richard is an excellent guide to the mechanical and theatrical elements of play. What really sets him apart, though, is his application of art to the games that he leads. He's passionate about crafting his players' character avatars, and the maps he makes are consistently dynamic. The alignment between how the characters and world are drawn, especially in the Humblewood setting he's currently running, really pulls you in as a player! It makes you curious about the peoples and places around you in the game, which was something I hadn't thought as much about in previous campaigns with other GMs.
