I had a great time playing "Turn of Fortune's Wheel" with Noxid. He was prepared for every session and did a fantastic job of bringing the NPCs to life. Noxid knows the rules well and was very patient with our party's beginner. What I most appreciated was Noxid's willingness and ability to bring his own creativity and ingenuity to the forefront by patching the adventure where it might have otherwise fallen short. His additions to the adventure were so seamless that I didn't realize they were his until I read through the module after the campaign's conclusion. Challenging combat encounters were another highlight. I would definitely recommend Noxid as a DM.
I started playing almost 45 years ago and I have played with a lot of DMs. James ine of the great ones, and that’s not something that I say lightly. His narrative craft has given our campaign—The Shattered Obelisk—a rich texture of realism; James’s presentation of Faerûn makes it feel like a real place. His narrations and descriptions are eloquent and vivid. He has a strong knowledge of the lore and a curiosity for it that’s obvious from his enthusiasm. James has also seamlessly infused his imagination directly into the campaign and smoothed over the bumpy road that is common to all WOTC modules. James is a master of weaving PC backstories into the fabric of the campaign: I write fairly developed character backstories so that my DMs have options to choose from if they want to thread parts of my character’s story into the campaign’s; I never expect DMs to use all the material I give them, but James blew those expectations out of the water. When he says he’s into collaborative storytelling, he’s not fooling around. James runs a welcoming and comfortable table with people who respect each other as players and characters. Combat is imaginative, efficient, and fun, and his voices will remind you of Middle Earth. James is a fair referee and easy to approach for rule clarifications. All of this and more is why I look forward to sitting down at his table each week as much as I do. James is top tier.
