Zack the FG GM

Zackery was my GM for a 5E (2014) campaign that lasted over thirty sessions before schedule conflicts forced a halt. He was open to non-traditional ideas like a researcher barbarian whose rage was based on career frustrations and Eldritch Blast flavored as thrown playing cards. We had two warlocks, and Zackery was fantastic at making their patrons and pacts feel individualized. The way he described battle scenes felt like a movie.

Tristan

Tristan ran a two-part campaign (something like levels 1-5, then 6-10, I think) and a one-shot in the same world that I played in. I've played for about six years, had various DMs, but Tristan is hands-down the best DM I have had when it came to integrating your character into his world. If you give Tristan a backstory, he will actually use it. Not just "Oh, you're a Harper? This Harper NPC will give you a mission that inexplicably has nothing to do with Harpers and you'll never see them again." No, it's "Guess whose family made terrible choices. That's right! Everybody's!" and "You made a pact with a neutral goddess, not a nice one." Our BBEG was a scarily powerful dragon and the only reason I didn't try to seduce my way into safety was because Tristan was so good at weaving in backstories I was convinced it would turn out the dragon and my Draconic origin sorceress were related. Also, I've developed a completely reasonable hatred of the Raven Queen. That being said, Tristan's not afraid to throw deadly encounters at his players and we had several characters die at the table. Keep that in mind when designing your character.
