Reviews I've given (2)
Whoops! I can't believe I forgot to leave a review for Robin for so long. Actually I can believe it but that says more about me than her. Robin is a fantastic GM that can juggle both experienced and beginner players in the same party. I've played both Conan 2d20 and D&D 5e with her. She is great at keeping things moving, and very good at noticing pain points in games that aren't fun for everyone and smoothing over them. Great judgment allowing for rule of cool outside the bounds of the rules while also preventing RAW but overly silly or abusive combos. Everything set up and prepared on Foundry VTT. A++.
I did a one-shot 5e adventure with Joannah and one other player (only two players ended up being able to make it), and it was a lot of fun. She is great at describing the world you're playing in, and very good at responding to player actions in an adaptable and in-world "realistic" manner. She is very good at instilling a feeling of trust right away, so I felt comfortable taking some roleplaying risks with her, trusting that making some "suboptimal" risks/choices with rules as written to gain roleplaying payoffs might occur - and they did!. I love it when I can just play my character as a character and do exactly what he'd do in that situation, without worrying too much whether it will end up with massive negative consequences for the party or mission without also the benefit of the "silver lining". Actions then consequences with full follow through. It creates a very immersive feel with high verisimilitude, which is something I very much prefer in games. She listens very well and has no problem asking for additional input if I'm not clear in what I'm describing my character as doing. I very much enjoyed myself and would definitely play with her as a DM again. Absolutely recommend and will be keeping an eye on her future availability to run games.
