I joined this table because I’ve wanted to experience Odyssey of the Dragonlords for years and didn’t want to DM it myself. Brian brings strong energy, good character voices, and clear commitment to running the module. He communicates outside of session, and handled logistics professionally when I chose to withdraw. Where the experience ultimately didn’t work for me was in table philosophy and pacing. After the first session, which had strong RP and cohesion, the game shifted into a very fast, mystery-forward pace. Narrative momentum often took priority over party discussion, research, and preparation. Attempts to gather information or plan ahead sometimes felt shut down rather than rewarded, which reduced player agency and party cohesion over time. There were also moments where core mechanics were interpreted or adjusted mid-session rather than clearly defined in advance. I don’t mind house rules, but in a paid game I think deviations should be clearly outlined beforehand so players can build and plan accordingly. Brian is engaged and clearly passionate about running the game. However, if you are looking for a slower-burn, player-driven experience with space for organic roleplay and preparation to meaningfully shape outcomes, this may not be the right fit without a clear alignment discussion beforehand.
