Character backstory’s were so well woven into the story, including/referencing/building off them in roll play and plot events felt seamless and real. Xe does immersion so well, even jokes like a goosedra somehow didn’t feel out of place or jarring. I really felt like I was in the world, more than any other Gm. Pcs won’t get hit too hard by the stick of consequence, sometimes it’s a little squishy. Actions have consequences, but never game or character breaking ones. It’s a table to have fun at, and xe values that over 100% realism. It’s more like 98% realism. (In one game, that 2% would have ended the party. The pc knew the NPC had the power, but didn’t think what they revealed was that important. That information very much was that important.) Just because it’s off screen does not mean it’s not happening. Stuff happens in the background. Lord do we know that But it was fun :) My best GM to date
