I've only played 2 games with this DM as of yet, but I'm extremely satisfied with the way the narrative is laid out. If you like coming up with a character, and have an idea, the DM can help you set out a good backstory intertwined with the overall story. He makes every character in the group have purpose, and allows, even in times of "don't split the party", be able to "split the party" in ways that immerses everyone, and doesn't pose critical risk. I am extremely satisfied that this in turn allows focus on narrative, instead of over-analyzing your every step. If you are an over-analyzer, like me, and need something with a bit more pace and flow, try this DM.
